Do Argonians lay eggs or are they born alive? I have heard several references in books and such, like "nests" and "hatchlings". I haven't read anything that gives any clear informatiion on the subject.

No, that was the whole Hist-Licking ceremony. Which is an awesome naming process by the way. The Argonians are born hermaphroditic and choose their gender. They are born from eggs and the birthing ceremony involves some type of witchdoctor-esque stuff. The eggs can then be used as Soul Gems, and the Argonian goes on with its life.
