Its Tod Howard and Pete Hines.
The sneaky devils.
On the 21st 19 players. I can only assume testers and reviewers.
Be ready for some low quality spoiler filled reviews coming out.
Whilst we just wait...impatiently on the side.
The game is finished and there are always reviewers and other in the loop people getting things early.
yeah someone made a post about this already, and since we got the last Special video this week and we are only 2 weeks from release, i think i will be very very caution about what i read on the forums or other website, for info u can trust Bethesda main site they wont spoil anything there.
A few last minute testers are a possibility making sure there's not a day one patch needed. Plus devs/steam reps and POSSIBLY reviewers as some have stated. Although i doubt there's that many of them.
Also do not forget this information is data mined. When it comes to data mining nothing is absolute and errors and such are bound to happen.
Let the testers play the game early, finding all the potential bugs. Make a list of fixes and release day patch. Smoother play for me and all of you of course...
it will likely be reviewers such as PC GAMER, Rockpapershotgun and maybe big name PC youtubers like Totalbiscuit and Angry Joe along with bethesda Developers.
Edit: Keep in mind that it wont be pirates because the game hasnt leaked yet and you can play PC games early like you can with consoles due the files being encrypted nd not containing a working exe until the proverbial switch is thrown. ( to this date no pc game that has been preloaded has been cracked before being offically released
Oh I don't know those charts seem to suggest that this game isn't a lot of fun if only 18 people tops are playing it ):
Well there's going to be a day one patch, that you can take to the bank, and that patch is going to be the product of the suggestions of the play testers and QA a people that have more than likely been playing the game in its working sections for like maybe a year now? At Least?
I borrowed a Delorean and came back from the future.
Bethesda has guarded against spoilers for so long, i doubt theyd let reviewers release information so early.
It's not uncommon for reviewers to get a copy weeks before release. They make their article or video and hold on to it untill the point that the review embargo is lifted.
This is actually a pretty fair and smart way of doing this, because this way the developer ensures that all reviewing parties have plenty of time to have a good look at their game. If they only send out copies on launch day or any situation without an embargo, all you get is people rushing an article or video. Because the first one's to hit the net are likely going to get the lionshare of the traffic and so the money.
Which is bad for reviewers who put in more effort into their work, but dont neccesarily have a large following that will wait for them, and also bad for the developer as "reviewers" could potentially misrepresent the product in their rush to be out first.
Great Scott!!!
EDIT: hold on, wasn't that five days ago?...
Ehhhh... I wouldnt be 100% positive about that. Day 1 patches are a pretty good sign the game was rushed and is unfinished and devs do not like that.
Between the time the game went gold and is launching they wont be adding anything due to suggestions. Once the game is finished its finished. Day 1 patches are for game breaking instances. Not "Oh man we need to add this one thing a tester said would be cool if it was added"
Day one patches don't need to be for anything game-breaking, just things the devs can spot and fix in-between going gold and launch. It's not hard for me to believe the game they sent to manufacturers is mostly stable and works as well as you'd expect, but they can still spend this time doing some extra work.
