How are you getting psyched?

Post » Sat Aug 14, 2010 11:59 am

I watched "The Thirteenth Warrior" again last night. As the film rolled on, I found myself becoming increasingly pumped - psyched up for Skyrim.
Now, if you haven't seen the movie, its based on Chrichton's retelling of Beowulf. It is also pretty awesome (bad reviews though).

So, since its basically Beowulf, its all about Northmen - Vikings who battle nightmarish beasts. Sound familiar? Sound awesome?
Sound Skyrimy?

Suffice to say, I spend about a hundred minutes itching to run through some chilly, forested Nordlands with a bigass sword.

What's getting you pumped for Skyrim?

I played http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viking:_Battle_for_Asgard for a time. I'd highly recomend it for those who can't wait until release date.

I bought the game when X-play gave it a 4/5 back in '08 and was not disappointed.

Awesome film.

I'm not letting myself get too excited about Skyrim though. When it was first announced I was ridiculously excited, but now having finished Nehrim: At Fate's Edge recently, there's no doubt in my mind that Skyrim won't surpass that. I'm expecting the worst and will hopefully be pleasantly surprised. If not, i'm sure it'll still be a great game.

Kind of been losing my excitement with the lack of info, but I'm sure E3 + fan interview will get me psyched again. :celebration:

I'm honesty not letting myself get excited. I'm happy it's coming out, but there are other games on my radar. Skyrim is still #1 though :tes:
