how are you going to RP TES:V?

Post » Sun Sep 06, 2009 6:23 pm

who all is going to RP their characters as the champion of cyrodiil? (if its actually a possible option of course)
Whilst my hopes are up for this option of roleplay, I wouldnt mind starting another group. I personally take all my toons, and put them together in a large "main story"(which I have alot of written down somewhere around here), with each having their own roles, and would love to continue their story by having them go to Skyrim, telling stories of their past work, remembering fallen friends, and fighting for.....whatever were going to be fighting for in TES:V xDD

so how are you going to do it? New hero? Old friends, charging once more into the breech? Or some other crazy jump on the Elder Scrolls universe?

Probably a New Hero, that can relate to my old characters. Be it a Brother or sister, a friend, a mortal enemy, or even their children. Thats the beauty of TES. Your imagination is what limits the roleplay.

thats a pretty good idea. In my story a Nord warrior died, who I had very little backstory to (he died in the battle for Kvatch). I could make a toon that is one of his children and have him meet up with the rest of the group. Thanks! :D

My Oblivion characters are retired and enjoying their lives. The ones in Skyrim will be new heroes. :)

Name:Balthazar Asbjorn (old norse for divine-bear or bear god)
Race: Nord, Male.
Class:Nomadic Warrior, wields an ax or sword, no sheild and a crossbow.
Apparel:http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/File:Armour_of_Romulus.jpg is his outfit (without the hidden blades)
Background:. He does not deny the existence of gods, but he does not follow any of them. It is not widely known but Balthazar is actually a werebear, he has taught himself to control his transformations, at nights he will not change if he does not will it but as a result his primal instincts sometimes escape him in times of threat, or violence and he will go berserk, known to cleave a man in two during these times. As a child, his parents were [censored]tered during a raid by a enemy Nordic tribe, which is when he was taken in by a tribe of werebears(led by the flashy Rohugh, hehe) and taught to control himself. He grew up to be a lone nomad, helping where he can and fighting through the wilds of Skyrim, waiting until he is needed. When stopping at a mead hall Balthazar was insulted by a drunken nord, and thats when his primal rage chose to sneak its way out, Balthazar picked the orc up and smash him into the table, killing him on impact and was sent to jail for murder.

He is a kind and friendly fellow, but is really defensive (as you can see)

He is not racist, but he hates snobbish, stuck-up attitudes, like the ones High Elves tend to have

Even though I have not finished O, I got the feeling the storyline was poor and thus your character became more like someone who went on a quest-spree to fill this emptiness. Not to say that there is nothing to do there, just that a well written plot makes you relate more to your character and so helps you envision him continuing onto the next stage / chapter.

So to me there is little incentive to 'imagine' myself as The Champion of Cyrodill...

I think your missing the point of roleplaying a character in a game. you dont go on "quest sprees you live your characters life that you create. One of my original oblivion toons was an Orcish Barbarian that broke the bars of his cell, fought his way to the armory and escaped the Imperial city in full imperial guard armor, shield and sword, and is currently living underground, in a cave south of Chorrol. Didnt do the main quest, in fact he doesnt do "work for humans" as he says, preferring to help Orcish travelers, whilst he plans his route to Elsweyr.

New hero, probably descendant or reincarnation of my Oblivion character, who was essentially a projection of myself anyway.

race bosmer
name help me pick a bosmery one please
vocation trapper / ranger

major skills
agility
lockpicking
sneak
spear [hopefully]
marksmanship

minor skills
light armor
speachcraft
fillers

i usally play as a naturalist bosmer who likes living outside of major towns. He is a rough character, and will do whatever to make a buck. He has been everything from assassin to hunter to bodygaurd. Evne if he reaches a rank of prestige to some his services will be for sale to the highest bidder. He has a love for mead and venison, wears only black, and has been known to haunt bars. His only true allaince lies with the theives guild whom he would never betray because they give him the ability to move annoynmously, repay fines at less cost, and hunt for prey of monetary or bodily value lest for members of the guild.

I have a few other characters everything from a norse warrior to a dunmer spell sword to an altemer ultra mage but the bosmer has always been my favorite

On my main account I Killed him off then deleted all the saves. He slipped down the stairs of his Skingrad house. Shame, his son that was bread with that Nord slave girl will be my new hero.

I play Altmers since Daggerfall.

I end up playing the same one, only through reincarnation and no-one else knows the hero of Daggerfall is also the Nerevarine and the champion of Cyrodill.

By oblivion he was pretty peeved at yet again incarnating as someone burdened with having to save the world.

Seeing as my current character - Arthur Dent is still living and going about his ways and is planning to make a trip up to skyrim around November 11th if anyone would like to join. I have over 200 hrs invested in him and have mountains of stories and collections of treasure hidden throughout the world. I'm anxiously awaiting his move to Skyrim. He's heard rumors of dragons and treasures within mountains so he will probably venture forth to see what he can find.

I'm going to have a young Dark Elf named Velyn Salothran, he's going to be an initiate in the arts of arcana. He is going to be stuck up, racist, mean spirited and self absorbed. As far as what avenues of magicka he will pursue specificaly that all depends on what happens when the adventures start, theres a chance he may learn to become a better person and take on restoration, or he may become obsessed with prolonging his life and take up necromancy. The latter seems quite possible as he thinks little of his native values, or any values really.

Well, I already have a Nord from Morrowind who travelled to Cyrodiil several years later. Perhaps his descendents will return to their homeland. :P

The descendant of my Oblivion character Aramir Wintersun, who himself was a knight born in Skyrim and trained as a Ranger there, but went to Cyrodiil for revenge and took up the mantle of the Divine Crusader.

Name: Raenir Wintersun

Race: Imperial

Class: Ranger (custom class specializing in Marksman, Blade (more specifically short blade if it returns), Light or medium armour depending if med returns, Restoration, Mysticism etc)

He is young, brash, and a bit foolhardy, but also experienced and a good tracker and survivalist, able to keep himself alive in harsh conditions with little food. He is not devout, like his forefathers, but worships Kyne for her boons that have helped him survive.

He's pretty awesome, and just like me :)

Depends on how far after Oblivion this game takes place. If it's only a few years, I will just bring all my old characters over. If it's 200 years, only one of my characters would likely have survived. I would most likely just have the children of my past heroes in the game then. :celebration:
