How are you gonna play?

Post » Mon Sep 27, 2010 11:37 pm

I'm going to play all the alignments with different characters. The first will be a thief/assassin sort of chaotic evil.

Neutral: Walking past a burning city because you, for various reasons, don't see any use in getting involved.

Evil: Being the guy who set the city ablaze.

Roasting marshmallows over a burning corpse...priceless...

anyway, I choose good, because that is usually how stories and quests are set up to be played and I usually just end up becoming a mass murdering psychopath when I go evil which just gets me into trouble. however, I usually do a lot of sneaking around and opening chests that I shouldn't so I guess neutral will be my first character.

I don't know, I can see how that might still be considered evil.

Neutral might be to see if there's anything you can do, but if it's too much trouble then you would walk away.

My first character will probably be good(ish). Good so long as it isn't too much trouble, she'll always ask for a reward (but might do the right thing even if one isn't forthcoming), and as Thaddeus Stephens said of Simon Cameron she "probably wouldn't steal a red-hot stove".

I'll probably beat everything in the game with my good character (and when I say everything, I mean everything I possibly can do, I'll do it, if it's good...) and then I'll probably wipe out every living person in Skyrim... Then make a new character. Then probably do it again, only with different choices (that is of course, if there are opposing guilds/ houses/ etc.. which I assume there are...)

Because even the best of people have to crack sometime...

Wiping out towns is neutral? I had no idea being a mass murderer wasn't evil, lol.

What if the town was full of criminals? I would be good/neutral since I delivered their punishment.

I'm usually evil in RPGs first, but I think I'll be good this time around. Which makes me wonder, will Skyrim have a karma system, or will it just be like Oblivion?

I think if you want to experience the most the game has to offer you're forced to play as a good character. It seems that's the way these games are primarily designed to be played.

You miss a lot of stuff if you try to play as an entirely evil character.

Well... Im either going to do this, or what I posted earlier >_>....

@above, though murdering just about everyone in the game after you've been the best person may be fun...

(and I'll probably be really good, but also join the thieves guild and possibly some other "evil" guilds, I'll just have to see what's in, I usually join the thieves guild [though if there is no thieves guild I'll join the Skyrim equivellant]

I will play an Evil Orc Shaman, or well, as evil as the game allows without messing up all the quests

Definately neutral, while I will be doing quite a few good deeds, I think I'll most likely end up killing some decent people here and there.

Edit:

Despite doing this, I always try to play every side of a game. First playthrough will be as I said, then likely I'll be evil, then good, then I'll just wipe out everything.

You forgot the option "Human Being"

None are truly good, or truly evil. Its not within our grasp, sooooo EVERYBODY is neutral.

Its my opinion that if you saw somebody who was truly good, you would be struck blind by there greatness. Then die.

And if you saw somebody truly evil, you would just die. Thats right, die.

My first playthrough I always a good character, but on the inevitable following playthroughs, I'm sure I will branch out to all types of moralities.

Then most of the people I know are evil, If I walked passed a burning town I would call the fire department, but, sense there isn't one, I'll just let the damn thing burn, nothing I can do about it, I mean sure, I would help out the refugees, but other than that I wouldn't do to much.

My first character always tends to be a noble knight (great fighter with limited magic and no stealth ability)

Chaotic Good

Lawful Good for me. I usually play a Crusader/Paladin character so I'll be a goodie two-shoes. I might make a neutral and evil character later though.
