How are you people joining the Enclave?

Post » Fri Aug 12, 2011 8:53 pm

Well, I have no dlc. You've suggested Broken Steel for me and I'm considering it but I see no option to join the Enclave, so it must be a mod. How does that work? In the vanilla game Enclave forces will have small guard posts and vertiberd drops. That's fine if you are their enemy because you must deal with their hostility, but if you join the Enclave then where is the danger if your comrades are everywhere to help you? Does this mod add Brotherhood drop zones everywhere, or is it a single goal to destroy the Citadel? Are the Enclave swell guys or do they treat you like the Outcasts do unmodded?

There isn't.

Vanilla Fallout 3 has the option to insert the FEV but thats it.

If you role-play as the Enclave and make them friendly with a mod. Then those Enclave forces will indeed be friendly. As for the difficulty of the game, yes the game will be easier (as it would be if you add yourself as a member of any hostile faction), but if you are rping as an Enclave soldier, then its assumed you aren't probably aren't going to play through the game normally.

Does this mod add Brotherhood drop zones everywhere, or is it a single goal to destroy the Citadel?

What mod are you talking about?

Unmodded? They shoot you.

Modded to make the Enclave friendly? They treat you much nicer than the Outcasts. Their dialogue is limited, but you can talk to them (which allows them to be recruited via a mod like "Sharing and Caring") and they say a friendly "Hey there" when intiating conversation and a "bye" when ending it. If you just pass by them without talking to them, they usually give a "Hello". Thats about the extent of their vocal conversation.

Thank you for answering my questions!

What mod are you talking about?

Whatever mod it is that everyone is using to join the Enclave. I will search and find it.

There isn't really one "set" mod to join the Enclave. All you really need to do is open the console and add yourself to the Enclave faction if you don't want to screw around with mods.

As for me, I use a combination of mods. Including:

Enclave Commander (latest version)
Sharing and Caring Companions
Personal Mod which adds me to Enclave faction and fixes a few things with Enclave commander
Personal Mod which spruces up Raven Rock
Raven Rock Extended

Those are essentially the mods that let me "Join the Enclave". I've also got some other mods which just add to the experience, such as improving Enclave armor and adding a few new Enclave camps and bases.

If you are looking for a mod with quests though, I'd suggest "Enclave Improvement Project". Its essentially a rework of the main questline.

Thank you very much Lt. Andronicus. You remind me of President Eden, a true American. *narrows eyes* And when I find that Star Paladin Cross advlterer I will introduce her to the Judas cradle and enroll her in my mandatory lessons in unmitigated agony and suffering. Then I will do the same to Dad for dishonoring my mother. And then Dr. Li and I can be together.

As the good Lieutenant mentioned, the mod you probably mean is my Enclave Improvement Project. And to answer your questions based on EIP's storyline..
How does that work?

When you meet President Eden in Raven Rock, you can ask him why he won't have Colonel Autumn do his dirty work. Eden hints that if you do it, you will have a future in the Enclave. This starts the Joining Enclave quest line.
But for now you must collaborate with the Brotherhood as Colonel Autumn isn't letting you inside the Purifier to poison it. When you enter the Purifier with Lyons and deal with Autumn, start the purifier and poison it. You are knocked out as usual and wake up in Raven Rock. However, then you have the option of joining the Enclave, and if you do, you can return to Raven Rock and start new quests.
In the vanilla game Enclave forces will have small guard posts and vertiberd drops. That's fine if you are their enemy because you must deal with their hostility, but if you join the Enclave then where is the danger if your comrades are everywhere to help you?

For most of the mod the Enclave's field outposts are called off because of the high casualties sustained during the war against Brotherhood. Later on when you have secured the entire Wasteland under Enclave control, you have the option of restoring the Wasteland outposts. Note: OPTION OF.

Does this mod add Brotherhood drop zones everywhere, or is it a single goal to destroy the Citadel?

To destroy the Brotherhood you must conquer the Citadel, Project Purity and Washington Monument. That doesn't simply involve a massacre, but when the conquest is complete Enclave soldiers, initiates, officers and scientists will replace the Brotherhood members complete with daily routines and posters covering the Brotherhood logos. You won't see much real change to the locations, just different guards.

Are the Enclave swell guys or do they treat you like the Outcasts do unmodded?

Because the Enclave have no real dialogue they will greet you simply with a "Hey There" when you talk to them. The few Enclave members that I have made dialogue for treat you as an "associate", a high-ranking associate but without any real military rank.

Note that because of the major and ambitious nature the mod has its share of bugs, but I work daily to fix these issues. For now I have no major bugs but there are people who seem to have issues with conquering the Citadel.

Thank you both. I will check out these mods and rate the ones I use ( after the nexus 15 minute delay ). There is a save right in front of our good president and Sydney will also be joining the ranks by design, custom .esp, or console. If this is your main project then here's to the Enclave. I once made an .esp for Oblivion that sent waves of Morag Tong against the player based on reputation. It was very early, cheap, dirty, and got out of hand quickly with scripted tokens and trophies. Whatever danger I imagine from a faction mod is being pushed to the side right now because I see Enclave material here and there and want to try it.

Give Autumn the code to project purity and you get a proper ending for joining the Enclave.
