How bad do you think skyrim will make bethesda in the future

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 2:08 pm

Bethesda for life <3. I will always buy a fallout or ES game by them. Dosent matter if the last game was bad or not, I still love the series and will buy any game that comes out. Say dlc for fallout, even though i didn't like the last one I still am going to get the next one cause I love it and it's new gameplay.

Cheers

morrowind is my favorite game of all time, and this one is quickly catching up to it. i will most certainly buy their next game. i do wish that these companies would learn that silence is a really poor way to handle problems though. clear and candid communication with the player base would do wonders for my opinion of them, as a company.

I'll buy Bethesda games in the future, and at release. The only real problems that I've had with Skyrim are CTDs and occasional missing textures, and after patching to 1.3 and enabling LAA, even those have all but vanished (one CTD in my last 20 or so hours of play). I get some FPS drops in the usual places (outside Dragonreach, in Solitude, etc.) but nothing that makes the game unplayable.

For that matter, I didn't have a fraction of the problems that many people did with Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and a lot of the problems I did have were likely related to mods.

And the games themselves are the best I've played. I guess I've just been lucky.

I think people are just nit picking for nit pickings sake. Also, I believe so many people are bashing Skyrim, is because it's the "in" thing to do. Wait a couple of months, and they will jump on a different band wagon. Funny, how someone said this is to the PS3 community, were there is no mention of the PS3 or it's owners. I'll buy all the DLC for Skyrim and preorder the new TES game as soon as I can.

Amen. Tell us what you're working on, by when you plan to have it released, why you couldn't release it by the timeline you gave us, where you would like for us to send crash or bug information, et cetera, et cetera.
Communicating with your customer base doesn't necessarily open you up to having to deal with trolls and whiners, if you do it correctly.
And it wins you a lot of good will and product quality/testing/usability information.

To answer the topic title, "How bad do you think Skyrim will make Bethesda in the future [?]:
Well, seeing as I'm thoroughly enjoying the game because it's wonderful, warts and all, and I'm interpreting the premise of the topic title to mean that the better Skyrim is and does, the "worse" it will make Bethesda, I'm going to say "terrible." "Absolutely vile, horrid."

I will wait at least a year also and be reading the forums to see if the game is actually playable

So the game is unplayable for you? You on the PS3?

Because I haven't had a crash or major bug in 40+ hours.

Skyrim has the second most sales of the year, next to MW3, right? I don't think Bethesda will be hurt one bit.

I have 200 hours in Skyrim and have not experienced one game-breaking problem, Skyrim is my favorite game right now, and will most likely stay that way for a while.

So yeah, I will continue to buy future titles from Bethesda and pick them up on midnight release as usual.

I always buy on release day, and I will with the next one if I'm still on the planet.

I have all the bethesda games, glitches and broken quests aside, I just can't stay away.

so NO, they will not lose money in my house now or in the future.

I don't understand why are you posting here if you play it on PC, Is it just to fill this post with comments to support bethesda?
This post is directed to PS3 owners who have a REAL problem with the game because it is broken.

Who said the post was directed only at PS3 owners? The OP didn't. And the question was whether people would buy games from Bethesda. People are answering the question.

I think the game is enjoyable. I really wanted to like it in the beginning, but the more I play the more the lack of spells and custom spell creation is killing my interest. I play on the console so it will be vanilla play forever. I played Oblivion and Morrowind for years. I don't see myself replaying Skyrim over and over unless the first DLC is a huge expansion of the spell list. Before I would pre-order another TES title I would want to research it, to see if magic had became so streamlined that it was just one giant glowing ball spell, that depending on how you pull the joystick will execute a damage effect or a healing effect or sneaking effect..... I mean come on Bethesda.... what good is an open-world if your character is so limited? Skyrim should have had all the previous spell in Oblivion, brought back levitation, mark and recall and giving us NEW SPELLS (Clarivoyance is silly) that don't involve elemental magic.

Bugs and all, Skyrim is STILL the best game I have played. Ever.
Has anyone else noticed the dramatic decrease in people in the forums? It is because most everyone are off Skyrimming (I claim coinage of this term!)

Of course I will! I'm seriously having a blast playing this game!
360 completely unpatched BTW.

It actually takes a really, REALLY weak company to convince me to never buy their products again. EA's NFS series has done it, and that's seriously the only one

I would be "Skyrimming" (*TM Daryn Mercio LLC) right now, but sadly I'm at work and I'm suffering from Skyrim withdrawal symptoms.

On topic: Since playing TES titles since 2002, I've come to expect bugs in Bethesda releases. I am a little concerned about the direction they're taking the series, but I doubt that it will prevent me from purchasing future titles

I might buy another game, but only if it's different than the last two or three. I'm getting way tired of paying the price of a new game for an old one with a new skin.
