How Bethesda can fix TES V

Post » Wed Dec 08, 2010 4:10 pm

Based on all of the feedback I am seeing on these forums Bethesda only has to do few simple steps to make TES V conform the 'collective' vision of it:

1. Throw all of the work done on the game so far, including the Creation Engine. Throw away the name Skyrim too as you see in step 2....
2. Do a Morrowind re-make using the CryEngine.
3. Profit!!!

--------------------

If this sounds ridiculous, that's because it is. But based on all of the topics saying the Creation engine fails compared to the CryEngine and the topics screaming bloody murder because Skyrim is 'not doing it like Morrowind', this is what people actually seem to want. I throw this out here to make people re-evaluate what they want from Skyrim. If you actually do want Morrowind 2.0 on the CryEngine, even if you cannot admit it to yourself, then maybe The Elder Scrolls franchise is not for you anymore.

Take a look at it this way, Bethesda is doing you a favor by not getting you to buy new games since Morrowind is the 'perfect' game and any game that does not copy it is fail.

I looked at this title and my initial thought was "Oh god, not this crap again."

While it's not the best idea to have done such a harsh perspective from the other end of the spectrum, it is still nice to see shed light on the ridiculous "validity" behind some of these concepts.

I wasn't aware Skyrim was broken and needed fixed, I didnt think it would be released for months. We all have our opinions for what we want in the game, but that doesn't make it broken.

This would have been better if you just played it with a straight face, rather than laying your cards on the table. ;)

Agreed!

I, for one, appreciate all the reform that goes into each new TES that gets put out. Maybe some of those individual changes are mistakes sometimes, but on the whole they are not.

It seems you need to write Warning! May Contain Sarcasm , or you are just wasting your time. And I want Daggerfall, played inside a Culture Ship-Mind.

(Most) People here don't want this to be Morrowind, they merely point to it to show that there are better ways to do things then Oblivion did them.Which when sequels come out people look for the best in the previous entries to compare to, with what they expect the next game to be. And Morrowind being often reguarded as the best in the series is often looked to for it's solid deep mechanics over the different direction that Oblivion took that wasn't recieved as well.

If the idea weren't totally ridiculous, it might even be funny.

Fortunately it IS ridiculous, so I have very little to worry about. :)

Most definitely not.

I, for some reason, can't stand Morrowind for more then half an hour.

The people that didn't actually read the OP's post are even funnier than the post itself.

I have to disagree, even though I like Morrowind I do not want a remake. Who knows, maybe when TES VI is announced you can cry for a Skyrim remake instead of something new and exciting.

This thread is a study in how many people that post actually read the thread or the original post. I imagine most read the title, and maybe skimmed his three points and immediately decided the thread could benefit from their well thought out opinion :)

Actually to be honest... I would love to see this XD
But I want Skyrim more so this can wait XD

Alright guys, I think we've got it down to a science:
1. Throw all of the work done on the game so far, including the Creation Engine. Throw away the name Skyrim too as you see in step 2....
2. Do a Morrowind re-make using the CryEngine.
3. Profit!!! Throw all the work done on the remake so far, including Gamebyro. Throw away the name Morrowind too as you see in step 4....
4. Do a Daggerfall re-make using Valve's Source Engine.
5. Profit!!! Throw all the work done on the remake so far, including the Source Engine. Throw away the name Daggerfall too as you see in step 6....
6. Do an Arena re-make using Id Tech 1.
7. Profit!!! Throw all the work done on the remake so far, including Id Tech 1. Throw away the name Arena too as you see in step 8....
8. Profit!!!

You haven't played TES V, so you can't tell if it needs fixing or not.
