How is Bethesda dealing with hacks ?

Post » Mon Feb 15, 2016 10:37 am

I will like to know how they are dealing with all the hackers on Fallout Shelter, it is complete unfair that paying customers that have invested money getting stuff while there others specially on Andriod using hacks to get as many Lunchboxes, pets, Mr. Handy they want without paying a cent for them.

I presume you mean by people using save game editors?

Didn't know about the hack app. But yeah, they should do something about them and as they will be hitting them in the pocket, I'd imagine it's got a good chance of being fixed. How quickly though is another matter.

I think that is Bethesda that cheats. The legendaries were available in the wasteland but no more by now. It makes players like me can't continue with the game.

I know there are saved games with a lot of boxes out there, but what is the fun if you only open the boxes to get them.

Because all the game data is saved on the device, there is no way they can prevent or monitor hacks. Games that require you to sign into their severs and all your game progression data is synchronized to their servers have better controls in place. I'm not saying games like clash of clans can prevent all hacks but they have few and the ones that appear they plug up as soon as they can.

If it makes you feel any better, pretty much all of the hack app sites fill your device with viruses and other malware, and/or make you take a bunch of "surveys" that guarantee you'll be overwhelmed with spam and sales calls.

I find this to be a non-issue since there are no links between games. Do what you want with your games, although, cheating does affect how one enjoys it. In the end, it doesn't matter what others do if it doesn't affect my own appreciation.

To be fair. It honestly doesn't matter if someone uses a hack app or a save file with linchboxes. It has no effect on your gameplay at all. Now if they tried adding in vault trading/raiding then there would be a reason to monitor the hacks. Gonna be honest here but I occasionally edit some of the files on one of my vaults because why not try to break the game and just have fun. But saying that I also have a vault that I've maxed out legitimately. So in the end fallout shelter (like almost all fallout games) actually support modding/editing.

What other people do in there vault is not of any concern to me - if they hack or cheat that's between them and Bethesda - it's not like the game is that difficult to require cheating - where is the enjoyment in having everything handed to you - why bother playing at all?

I never understand why people get so worked up or even care at all about cheaters in a non-competitive game. Even in a competitive game, you can often smoke the cheaters.
