How to build a good meele character?

What should you keep in mind wen you are building a good melee character?
what i think is hardest is that i think you generally need 3 skills, repair, sneak and melee,
but even though you can consider it to be harder (and i like it easy) its worth it, its so more exciting
using a melee character, funny battles and such, but speaking of funny, guess what i found
in a ''ruined school desk'' (or something) in Arlington library in a class room, a beer and a ashtray LOL

Get the Shishkebab schematic as soon as you can afford it. When I do melee I always tag melee, sneak, and explosives. You should concentrate on endurance, strength, luck, and agility for your special skills. Explosives are very useful for a melee character, because some of the ranged enemies will do everything they can to stop you from closing in on them. When they do that toss a granado at there feet :) Also take the ninja, better crits, and pyromaniac perks. Melee is fun because it takes a bit more strategy in combat. Like using cover to force an enemy to come to you, and then cut there head off, and pillar dancing. Also it is always a blast when you sneak up on a group of enemies all close together. Perfect for tossing a nuka grenade in there, and watch the gibs rain down :)

If you want a specific weapon, go with high STR and END, and maybe AGI. Tag Melee (of course), Sneak, and Medicine. If you're female, use Black Widow, you'll be fighting a lot of men. Choose your weapon, and max out its condition, have a couple of spares.

The Shishkebab is the best melee weapon, but if you want a different one, don't bother with Pyro. Definitely get Better Criticals ASAP, as well as Toughness, Fast Metabolism, and Lead Belly, all of which will allow you to take less damage and heal more efficiently when you're hurt. Barkskin, Survival Guru will also improve damage resistance. And if you like doing things the creepy way, Hemopha-whatever and Cannibal will provide alternate healing methods. Remember that you're going to get hurt a lot as you close on a foe, and plan accordingly.
