How I came to love an Argonian

Post » Sun Oct 09, 2011 1:15 pm

Recently, I've noticed my general racism toward Argonians, and Khajit - so today while sitting in front of oblivion at the character creation screen, I decided to put myself in their shoes... Personally, Khajit annoyed me - so I stuck with trying an Argonian. Wondering "what play type are you?"... Tried to imagine being him, and suddenly it all came into view... human and mer hunter. Suddenly I imagined that my reptilian guy had a supremacist view, logical, clear cutting and behind that confusing speech was wise minds and now in me, a being who believed the civilized world was his game world.

I saw a tall strong argonian, those sharp strong features - cold but deep eyes. Already rejected by the rest of man and mer-kind, no reason to play weaker... So I ended up choosing this argonian and playing like a predator. Only talking to my game when entirely necessary, but seeing naught more than flappy fleshy bits bouncing around on this slightly argoniazoid, bipedal - flesh things spouting pure nausance. chatting about their important possessions, statuses and stuff that means nothing to my superior species. I gave my argonian a huge crown of horns - indicating that he is a hunter...

After getting to level 10 with him, I can now officially say - take bosmer out my name and cast it back from whence it came! I isskk Argonian!

Now give me my bow, and let me show you how real predators live.

Please tell me someone else has experienced this in coming days, or even seen a new side to a race or class you once didn't really care for much. would love to hear other's in game experiences, and how you even came to favor your favored races.

of course, being a massive Jurassic Park fan, I will also make an Argonian character who wears nothing and acts like a velociraptor.

you just made me love argonians more

i first liked them after i looked at their lore and seen how similar it is to me

Their seemingly expressionless faces belie a calm intelligence, and many Argonians are well-versed in the magical arts. Others rely on stealth or steel to survive, and their natural agility makes them adept at either. They are, in general, a reserved people, slow to trust and hard to know. Yet they are fiercely loyal, and will fight to the death for those they have named as friends

i really love the whole loyal to their friends part

Definately. I can just imagine a introverted clan of them talking over the fire about how to immortalise their honour and not be completely crushed by their general 'slave' appearance to the public.

This topic got my hopes up but then disappointed me.

I was hoping for a proper sequel of The Lusty Argonian Maid.

Agacephs: Most have needle-like faces and vary in color from bright green to orange. They live in the inner part of Argonia, near the Hist.
Archeins: During the time when other races tried to put plantations in Argonia, Archeins were very powerful. They made most of their money by selling other Argonians into slavery. Since the other races realized Argonia is unfit for plantations, they have gone bankrupt.
Paatru: Described as "toad-like," they live in the inner part of Argonia.
Sarpa: Described as being "winged", though it's unclear if this is meant literally or not. They live in the interior of Argonia.
Nagas: They are described as having "huge mouths filled with dripping needle-like fangs". They are usually seven to eight feet tall. They also appear to be more snake-like than other Argonians. When the other races were attempting to put plantations into Argonia, they generally acted as highway men, robbing passing caravans; however, since the other races ceased trying to put plantations in Argonia, they have left the roads and have gone back into the inner swamps.

all but the archeins, they are corrupt, honerless basterds <_<

and you argonian sounds ike a naga!

The only reason I didn't like them was because too many people like Argonians and Dunmer. Then people who like Argonians say that they kick their asses, while people who like the Dunmer say that the Dunmer gave them freedom. Thus starting the big race war.

I can't effectively roleplay as an Argonian because they're simply too alien to me. I have no idea how they'd think or feel, their attitudes and predispositions, etc.

Besides, I'm an Imperial for life

Naaahhh!!! no Argonians for me. :flamethrower:
But i have recently come to really like the Wood Elves, i used to see them as little derps but now that i know their lore and how their society is i have a new respect for them. I love how they are clan-based and live off meat alone, also their new look helps break them away from the more traditional elves

I do not hate the lizards, but I strongly dislike them, given their "kick while down" antics in Morrowind. After the Dunmer already abolished slavery.

Freaky little mind reader. I was going to post that reading The Lusty Argonian Maid is how I came to love an Argonian, but no, you had to steal that from me. Still, +1.
