How can I go about maximizing my performance for Crysis?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 12:21 am

I have an ASUS cucore 5770. How can I maximize my performance? At very high, I only get about 20-27 fps. What can I do to get that higher?

Get a new CPU, Crysis 2 works miracles on a Quad core, oh and Crysis 2 is as smooth as it gets, if your not seeing nice results on bare settings, not much you can do from there......

Try overclocking your GPU/CPU if your PSU and cooling will allow for it.

I meant for crysis 1 and crysis warhead. Not some easy to run Crysis 2... Besides, I have a quad core liquid cooled 3.2 ghz Phenom II. CPU is not an issue.

using MSI afterburners, I can push my GPU to about 912 mhz from the standard clock of 800. Would OC my CPU do anything?

Get a new GPU. 1 5770 alone is not enough for max settings on C1. 2 5770s on the other hand will get you a large increase in performance

I was never one to go for a cross fire because I would be buying a second of the same card and Its pointless doing so if I want to upgrade. I would be scrapping two. What would be a fairly good upgrade? I don't have a great budget. But I suppose a budget of about 200 sounds about right. I could wait a while and hit 300 though.

I recently got one of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102918&cm_re=6970-_-14-102-918-_-Product, and it is beast. Any current pc game you throw at it will make it its bich. If I were you, I would wait til the hd7000 series comes out and the price should drop on that a little bit.

No there are tons of things you can do to boost performance.

I can give you a monual method using .cfg editing but first try downloading xconfig 1.3 and select "Very High" for the cfg you want.

Use it and turn down the bloom a little. Not only does it look better, but it boosts performance.

Yes. I am looking into that card. Its pretty expensive. I'll see what I can do.

It's a great card. Powerful and quiet. I have it OC'd @ 930/1430mhz with a 40% fan speed(I can't even hear it while I'm in game), and it rarely goes above 65c in my antec900. I highly recommend it, if you are willing to fork out the $350+

Try the download link given here:

Also if you find a mirror and don't like the look xconfig gives, I'll post some configs you can make manually.

Looks like its going to be my next buy. I have a really cheap thermaltank case but it does the job right and I can simply remove the side cover if I have to.

Found a download via a quick google search since those appeared to be dead. I'll post some benchmarks and screenshots when I find something I like. Thanks again!
