How can I find my exact cell?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:23 pm

When I'm outdoors, the map will tell me what area I'm in (Ashlands, Bitter Coast, etc.). But sometimes I'd like to know exactly which cell I'm in. Most of the outdoor areas are made up of many cells, and the map doesn't specify coordinates. Is there a console command or something which will give me this information?

It's usually more accurate to just use GetPos to get your exterior location, because the result can be used in Position/Place/AI commands.

If you actually need the coordinates for some reason, I believe if can divide the result of GetPos by the dimensions of an exterior cell (8192), but I've never actually tested that.

Here is the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Console commands and I think the "SV", "TDT" and "TST" is the commands you're looking for. :user:

SV wouldn't help; that displays script variables, which is not what I'm looking for. TDT and/or TST might; I've never tried them so I don't know exactly what data they display. I'll give them a shot next time I play. If they don't show what I want I'll try John's idea of using GetPos and dividing by 8192. Thanks for the info, guys.
