How can I get into this game again?

Post » Mon Apr 20, 2009 2:08 pm

When I first got Fallout New Vegas, it was all I could play until I finally beat it. The same day I beat it, I accidentally deleted the save and ended up skrewing my self over. I basically lost the " want " to keep playing. It's been a while now ( feels like 2 months ) and I really want to get back into it now, especially now that the Dead Money DLC is out ( I'd want to get to the max level and beat the story line before I get into it ) but when ever I make an attempt I just can't bring my self to doing it and I go back to Dead Space 2 or some other game.

What are some ideas you guys can think of to add to the " fun " in the game and even bring back the interest of a veteran Fallout player?

EDIT: I was thinking maybe giving hardcoe mode a try too. I'd also really love some class ideas and role playing ideas. My last character was just a gun / explosives user with decent lock picking skills.

Start off with Guns skill of 36 at level 1 and skip Goodsprings and Primm by just leaving and advance on to Novac the normal way and recruit Boone, by this time, you should be well armed, then access Manny's terminal and select the only option, and advance to Boulder City and complete They Went That A Way and head to the Strip and

kill Benny
. Just a fun and easy way to start the game off well, its the way I do it now.
WARNING: This is recommended to be done if you have the Weathered 10mm Pistol at the beginning.
Yeah, and as the below post, mods if you have a good PC/Laptop. (I don't have a good PC/Laptop)

Hold the disc firmly in your hand, wipe lubricant on the center hole, unzip your pants...

Try a melee character. It's a little hard in the beginning, working with knives and lead pipes, but as you progress it becomes more and more fun. When you can, get a Fire Axe. That one never gets old. Charging at some chump stuffing his face at a table, doing this awesome spin attack right into him... Man, what a weapon. My current character is a little sadistic xD

Bumper Swords, Chainsaws, Nailboards and Rebar Clubs are also great. Oh, and get the "Oh, Baby!" from the cave near Jacobstown. Get your Strength up to 10 though. Anyway, I always used to use guns only, but Melee weapons are surprisingly strong once you've put some points into it. I usually take out light or medium-armored people down with my Fire Axe in one "charged" hit.

Happy hunting :)
