How can a Khajiit be Dovahkin ?

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 6:30 am

I've decided to play a Khajiit and I can say I'm having a blast. He's a thief and an excellent archer, and I've been doing all kind of stuff all over Skyrim with him for the last 50 hours. However, the problem I have is that I cannot relate to the story from an RP perspective (I barely started the main story, I just killed the first dragon at the tower and went back to my thief business)...

He has no interest in this Dragon thing, and even less on the civil war going on. He just doesnt care... I'm almost thinking of starting a Nord just to do the main storyline ;)

So my question is, How could a Khajiit be Dovakhin ??? I'd like some ideas on how I could convince him to care !!!

Dragon parts and armor are rare and valuable.

Well a dragon almost killed him at helgen. That at least should give some incentive. Also you could role play him as power hungry. Then he would want to go seek out the grey beards to learn more about his shouting.

Why should he care? He can just not give a crap!

Also any race can be Dragonborn, it's a blessing from Akatosh and race doesn't matter.
But yes, the main quest leans heavily towards Nord characters.

Well, he can't be a thief if the world gets destoryed :hehe:

Also since by now he has learned atleast the first part of Unrelenting Force, does such power that only few have not entice him?

Like how an Argonian or a Khajiit could be the the Nerevarine and Savior of the land of Morrowind.

That said, ya got a heck load of generations (in hundreds) inbetween the past and now that might have interracial marriage/lover.

If I understand things, Elsweyr isn't part of the Empire anymore, and these Stormcloaks are just Nords. Ralof said "You don't have to be a Nord to fighty for Skyrim's freedom!" although it sounds like it does though. I feel really out of place as a khajiit. I had a Khajiit Paladin in Oblivion and it went well, but I have a Khajiit and it seems really out of place. You only see fellow brethren outside of towns and in caravans. It seems to be purely a human province.

I've been thinking about this too, I always prefer to play races that make sense Lore-wise.
(In order of most to least sense)

Morrowind:
- Dark Elf

Oblivion:
- Imperial
- Nord
- Breton

Skyrim:
- Nord
- Imperial

I wanted to try out a Khajiit but I have a hard time stomaching the idea of a Khajiit being destined by gods and fate to be the Dragonborn and Save Skyrim, it's just too outlandish.
I would love if they included the option to start the game with a "Martin" character destined to be the Dragonborn, and you simply aid him.

Everyone should care if the country you are in is about to become involved in a civil war. Wars affect everybody in the vacinity be they soldier or not. Atrocities are commited, farms and livelihoods are destroyed. On the flip side some people will get power and money exploiting the war.
If your character still doesn't care, then add big fire breathing lizards to the mix. Left unchecked you could become a kitty shaped snack one day.

As mentioned any race can be Dragonborn, as it is a divine blessing rather than a hereditary one.

"You don't have to be a Nord to fight for Skyrim's freedom!"
You have to be one to live there though if they get their way :)

when you fight guards, they will taunt you: "my cat looks just like you!" you can say he was hellbent on proving khajiit superiority on those brawny nords ^^

Argonians look somewhat like dragons so it makes sense to me.

Maybe something like the Ka Po' Tun ? You want to become a dragon like Tosh Raka by eating souls of other dragons?

ooh yes there's that.

There's that cat who succeeded to morph into a dragon.
So a cat with dragon soul and blood seems believable

Also playing a Khajit thief at the moment.

Heres the thing.... You don't have to care. I probably won't bother doing the MQ with this character. I never even went to Riverwood. I hightailed it back toward Riften the moment I got out of Helgen. I will leave saving the world to one of my more 'heroic' characters.

Fight on the imperials side and you will find better diversity there. One of the first things that happens when you join the stormcloaks side is this big palooka asks you why you are fighting for this cause if not a nord. I see the stormcloak side as the bad guys to be honest. but that's an argument for another thread.

How can anyone else but the lizard-reptile-Argonian be a Dragonborn? They share the common ancestry.. bloodlines and thing. The others are just impostors.
Anyway, my advice is stay away as much as possible from the main storyline. That's what I do (even though I'm Argonian). It's a bunch of BS that's pushing my character in pre-determined direction of egotripping and I really hate that.

You want to have a better experience as Khajiit when killing these dragons? Just forget about dragonborn myth. When you kill a dragon and start absorbing his energies, raise hands in the air and utter: There can be only one.
