How to cap fps?

Post » Fri Mar 08, 2013 6:13 am

Does anyone know how to cap the frame rate for Crysis 3? I have tried using the command "sys_maxfps XX" in an autoexec file but it doesn't seem to work...

you need to put "sys_MaxFps=XX" in system.cfg

somehow it caps 2 more FPS than you specify. If you want it capped at 60 FPS type 58 instead.

Or you could just use Vsync. It locks your FPS to your monitor's vertical refresh rate.

It's the easiest way.

unless you have a 120hz monitor like me

And vsync is just another performance killer and can cause input lag

Both are very true statements.

But forcing the game to cut frame renders is going to kill performance too. But, on a 120Hz monitor (I'm jealous, Mr. Moneybags; wink+nudge) it doesn't sound like ou have a lot of options.

Perhaps CH4NCE or S-Dub can help? I'm sure that if that's modifiable, CH4NCE can probably get some info for you.
