How challenging is your setup in fallout 3

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 7:43 am

I wanted to know as i was curious what setup everyone played their fallout 3 games ...

Power armor cannot be taken from dead soldiers as its supposed to be in the lore. Considering you have a harness to fix it in .(i have a mod for that) . I also have that impervious power armor mod which makes power armor as its supposed to be , a walking tank and not a walking tin can as in the Vanilla.

I have a mod for triage which requires me to have surgical supplies to heal my crippled limbs..
BOS DC patrols mod also in the mix

Not to mention a self rule of saving only at my home and nowhere else and no fastravel as well. I have arwen realism tweaks so life in wasteland is rather difficult..
I use MMM mod in 1-3 spawns

Its extremely fun playing in this setup. Your thank full for every cover you get. every grenade which hit where you want.
Especially the joy of meeting a brotherhood patrol when your trapped between the massive mess of mutants there are in DC.
Am about to go to the purifier now which activates the enclave patrols in many parts of DC.. No idea how am gonna survive in there..

Minigun, about 500-600 rounds, tin can armor. Something about running at an enemy with a shooting gatlin gun and hearing the ping ping against your armor is awesome.

But I still don't like FO:3.

My favourite character has 1 endurance and wears no armour, is allowed 1 sleep per day, heals only using stimpaks (no food) and has an objective of using as few stimpaks as possible (with as high a kill-to-stimpak ratio as possible). I also have Arwen's tweaks to make things a bit harder, plus MMM for a laugh. This makes for a really tense playthrough, as you are constantly in peril (I find that the 'use as few stimpaks as poss. rule works really well, as I'm very, very reluctant to use them and tend to be wandering about at half health or less most of the time, which of course makes me even more vulnerable). I think this gives a much better impression what the wasteland is like for the people living there, as opposed to being a living god which is what the player tends to become.

I play Dead is Dead with these http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1176044-fallout-3-hardcoe/ for those of us on 360 or PS3.

I've added one rule: I cannot look at the map unless I am safe and inside. Local map only when out and about.

Hmm, I can't answer this here as mine is for New Vegas... Mind creating the same thread in the New Vegas forum?
