how come no gumpowder in Elder Scrolls yet?

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 2:16 am

they should at least some kind of new technology for the game, some kind of early musket weapon or something. People don't use swords and arrows forever. It would show that the world is slowly growing up. It's kinda weird that the game takes 200 years after the last one but the world hasn't changed any. I'm not really sure how much time passed between games because it's rarely talked about

I don't want that in my TES games. I love having my trusty sword, and strong bow.

The idea that Tamriel is an alternate universe where firearms will never be created isn't that unbelievable. Why make guns when you can shoot fireballs?

If you want a fantasy game with magic and guns, go play fable 2 and 3.

why not? you can still have fantasy as well as old style guns. It makes sense to show the world change at least a little. I've played the game since Morrowind but nothing really changes in the world

Automatic weapons with bullets and all that stuff doesn't belong in The Elder Scrolls.

for a moment I thought you were talking about some ingredient for the ladies that contained "gum" in the powder.

Because using magic is far more effective than gunpowder? The early forms of muskets weren't much better than bows. Compare this with throwing fireballs, never mind stuff like shouting down gates, stopping asteroids from falling, creating huge godlike golems or spliting the atom with a sword.

But gum powder would so help to prevent tooth decay.

Why do you need gunpowder when people can shoot fireballs from their fingers??

Muskets aren't automatic weapons they take time to reload. You don't think it's weird to move a game up 200 years and not show minor improvements to the world? you think they should keep doing the same thing every single game?

Who the heck need gunpowder when you have fireball.

Would can have been invented if you had fresh food anywhere you go ?

anyway:

Firearms are designed for idiots, no skill required.
