How come C4 is only a tiny bit less powerful than the Fatman

And I mean by 14 damage... :shakehead:

Because Explosives sing a song called 'Nerf me as though there were no tommorow" :whistling:

Because Obsidian wanted to nerf Grenades so they had to Nerf Explosives to make them just as powerful as regular guns.

Well you are comparing conventional explosives to a miniature nuclear bomb.. The Fatman should be winning hands down.

You can also drop multiple blocks of C4 and detonate them all at once. Definitely the biggest boom in the game.

Are you kidding me...? are you actually arguing that the Fatman should be equal to a small lunch box sized pack of 200year old C4?

To be fair, a block of C4 the size of the ones in Fallout: New Vegas would be obcenely powerful. You could knock out a bridge with something that size. Also, the Fatman realistically would be impossible to use without killing yourself in the process.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davy_Crockett_(nuclear_device) would be the closest real life example of what the Fat Man would be like but the Fat Man is also smaller and more portable. The nuclear reaction would be much smaller, and therefore less powerful.

It couldn't hurt to give it a little boost though :)

Err... nerfing the Fat Man in such a drastic manner is just beyond me...
It might not be a realistic weapon, but it's there
I think I've found 5 Mini Nukes and 2 Fat Men throughout my 60 hours of gameplay so far. This should also be an important factor in how effective it is... you find C4 all over the place, why waste time trying to find Mini Nukes?
Silly developers.

Im aint a rocket scientist but wouldnt the chain reaction in a mini nuke still create temperatures in the millions or is that based on how much uranium their is>?/AKA u need a certain amount to reach a certain temperature/And bora u must not understand the true power of nuclear weapons if u think a conventional explosive comes even close to the power of a nuclear weapon even if its foot ball sized it would vaporize a building easily lol.C4 is powerful but it aint T H A T powerful.Nuclear explosion dominates any and all conventional explosives hands down.Closest their is is the Full air and even then it cant hold a light to even the smallest nuke the usa has in their arsenal.Btw yal should look up the father of all bombs its sixy lol

I think anyone who has played FO3 or FONV knows that the Fatman is not a Nuclear Bomb. It is a HE Bomb that has enough Thermal Energy to create a Mushroom Cloud that is packaged in a case that looks like a small mini nuclear bomb.

The Davy Crockett, linked above was the smallest nuclear device ever produced, and we all know how bad it would be to actually use that thing due to the blast radius. I don't think you can make a nuclear bomb with less yield than that.

Be that as it may, there currently is no justification to carry the bombs and the launcher with you. They are extremely rare, heavy and expensive, thus they should be able to kill pretty much anything with one hit. This from game logic point of view :)

The Fat Man isn't a nuke? Huh... I mean, the ammo is named "Mini Nuke".

Neither do most of the people who play this game either. The radiation alone from an explosion at the ranges you use the Fat Man at would be enough to kill anyone.
