How come Romlyn Dreth isn't in Riften jail?

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 8:32 am

After you rat him out to Indaryn for embezzling Black-Brier mead he is still walking around in riften like if nothing had happen however when you come near him he makes a remark "A Dreth never forgets a traitor!" so something must of happen to him.... either Indaryn is black mailing him for whatever.
Maven seems to be a person not to mess around... especially screw around with. She even threw her own son in jail so I honestly can't see her forgiving Romlyn.

So what happen to him anyways?

The skyrim world doesn't really react to changes like that

I doubt Indaryn would rat out Dreth to Maven. Makes him look bad for not noticing the smuggling earlier and puts him in as much danger of being "replaced" as it does Dreth. Instead he probably roughed Dreth up a bit to teach him a lesson.

Or any changes, for that matter. Besides the occasional guard comment of course.

If Indaryn ratted him out to Maven, Dreth would be dead. But like REL said, it'd just make Indaryn look bad by not noticing that sort of thing happening until the Dragonborn came along.

It's because he's much more talented than Valen Dreth. Romlyn would probably make it to the beaches of the Somerset Isles with that Imperial pig's wife...

lmao

I wouldn't count on gaining access to the summerset isle's now that the Thalmor are torching everyone left and right. :P

But yeah, as had been said... It's a game, with flaws. Such as this.

Bethesda was too lazy to care about the details.

i'm rather concerned about the well-being of Brand-Shei, the guy we had to frame for Brynjolf. After all this time, he's still locked up in prison. Maybe I should smuggle some wine and sweetrolls to him some time ...

This kind of fits in with my earlier post referencing Valen Dreth from Oblivion. Remember how one of the ways to kill Valen was by sniping him with an arrow from the cell across from his?

Yeah... Brand-Shei as well apparently.

I'm an assassin, what did you expect? ;)

If you read the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:A_Chance_Arrangement it will be clear that he's supposed to get in jail for only one week, not forever.
