How to Customize PC Controls - xbox 360 controller?

Post » Tue Sep 22, 2015 11:08 am

Hi there,

I want to change around some controls on the PC version using my Xbox 360 controller, there seems to be no way in the menu to do this.

Basically I want the block button to be the left trigger and the attack to be the right trigger because it is much more practical than having block as RB button.

Shooting games have this left trigger hide in cover right trigger shoot, it's makes sense I do not know why Skyrim made it this way it is very awkward.

Can someone help me please

You need to implement changes within the ini files. (sorry... not exactly the ini files) It might seem complex at first but with a little patience you can do it.

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12964/?

... and it opens up a wealth of options. Then I just reassigned a few of the locations, using Notepad ++, to customize the controller to my liking.

The file location for mine is...

C:\ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ skyrim \ Data \ Interface \ controls \ pc

I use an Xbox controller on PC and the left trigger is block by default (and right trigger is attack). Are you using some mod(s) that change that?

Oh my... I indeed misread that in the OP.

You are correct. That is the default and the controller is a plug-n-play with the exact config as the console itself.

I haven't downloaded any mods (at least not that I can remember) but block has always been RB for me. Hmm I'm not home right now but I'll check again when I get home.

Yeah that's strange....also in the setting menu and then controls menu you should be able to change key bindings....I switched out sneak to RB and shout to left click.
