How to deal with light operatives

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 9:18 pm

I'm personally going to go with a heavy medic with a mini gun to deal with them.Any ideas on stopping the invasion apart from bashing them on the head with the Brink Bible?

they will obviously try to sneak their way across the map using their advantages that other body types cannot get to. cover those choke-points with a mine/ gunner and you are set.

Maybe but I am sure their are more ways to get around then you can reasonably defend. Besides spend too much time dealing with the light operative and you are giving the rest of the enemy team a easier time. Honestly I will spent time just keeping people away from the objectives.

I believe they have to kill someone before they can use the disguise right? and they can't be seen either, so staying together and have one check your back once and awhile should greatly limit any attempts from operatives.

1. They can't disable mines. They can spot them, but it is up to Engineers to disarm them.

2. A Heavy Operative would probably be good at taking care of Light Operatives. If they disguise you can still spot them. And if you kill someone you can hack their corpse to get radar. I don't think there's an ability that stops you from showing up on an Operative's radar.

This. If anyone hasn't played Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (ET:QW) they should download the demo. It will give you a very good idea of how the team elements of the game will work.
Just... with vehicle combat added.

Soldiers blow stuff up, Medics revive, Engineers build and fix, and Operatives harass and hack/disguise.
But the main goal is to stop the enemy from completing the objectives.

Edit: I plan on playing Heavy religiously, so mowing down lights in cramped hallways is a specialty of mine.
Need a Light exterminator? Call Napalm Inc.

But really, I wouldn't be all that worried about the amount of people playing Light, because they will eventually figure the game out. Or they will move onto something else if they don't like it.

But if you do that to everyone on your team to soon you will run out of supply's, and when it comes to a real fire fight you are [censored].

But that's really difficult! We need to think of something less complex, maybe a system of pulleys to drop an anvil onto them when they cross a marked piece of ground?

Note:This is just a topic about ways to end the soon to be invasion of lights and how to make people try out other roles which they are capable of using

I just hope this won't end up like Cod where people see someone play with a certain class and all stick to it even though they are terrible with it

Honestly if they play like idiots they will get killed over and over again until they learn to play smart. I have plenty of good reasons for wanting to play light operative. If this wave does appear I'd imagine it will be short lived. Consider I have seen this thread like a dozen times I ask this, does this really worry you that much?

Say you jump into a game where all your teammates are light operatives, just facepalm and leave. How to deal with them, you will by just playing the game.

How what you need to be worried about are those heavy medics.
