How to desaturate colours in an Esp file?

Post » Sat Sep 14, 2013 8:39 pm

After many attempts, I found a nice combo for colours/light with RCRN Classic + ELFX + Immersive Saturation Boost.

I didn't like CoT that washed out colours, and ENBs like Real Vision.

Now the problem is that Saturation Boost makes game nice but also too much saturated and can be annoying in long game sessions. Does anyone know how can I desaturate a little bit the colours in Immersive Saturation Boost?

Just for info: here are some my attempts:

http://img.techpowerup.org/130912/RCRNCLSB.jpg (The perfect combo for me, but a little too much saturated).

http://img.techpowerup.org/130912/CoT.jpg (Washed out, too much yellow, and "field of wheat" feeling).

Simple! Just use the CK or TES5EDIT to modify the saturation settings in all of the imagesapces modified in that mod.

lol. Thanks mate, but I'm not able to make this. If you explain in a more clear and noob mode, I can realize it.

He's saying use the CK or TES5Edit to change one of the mods you plan on using to values more to your liking. The easiest to change would probably be the Saturation Boost mod since you say it's closest to what you want. Open that mod in one of the editors and change the numbers the mod alters for the imagespaces to be something less than the current values in the mod.

How much and which ones are up to you, you'll have to find values that you like via trial and error. Make several changes and try them out at different values and different times of day as well as different weather conditions, you'll have to experiment a to some degree. Try to decrease saturation in 10% increments and go from there until you find some settings you like.

Oh wow, with Tes5Edit, seems to be very easy, also if there are so much items to change :/ . Thanks!

Why not use SweetFX? You can fine tune contrast and saturation and it's very simple to use.

You're going to have to do some form of editing to get exactly what you want.

A few options (besides using the CK):

Find a different ENB that's less saturated (like http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/24235//?or http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/822/?, maybe).

Use http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13049/?. It allows you to change contrast, hue, saturation and lightness in the game through a spell with menus. I haven't used this for a long time so I don't know what the current state of the mod is. There's an add-on to the mod that has an MCM menu, too.

Use http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/23364/?. It has a lot of optional features (sharpening, blurring, gamma, color tone, SMAA, etc.). If you're not using anti-aliasing from an ENB, SweetFx is IMO a requirement for SMAA alone. And a lot of ENB configs still use it for SMAA. SweetFx is configured through an ini file. It's pretty easy to figure out. You can search around to see if there's a config that fits what you like, too.

Actually, I decided to create my own mod to adjust the saturation and contrast settings for most of the ImageSpaces. I too found that other mod to be excessive at times, and the other mod (that does contrast) was excessive too.

I just uploaded it to Nexus http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/42218/?.
