how Destructible are the environments?

Post » Sat May 16, 2009 11:19 pm

CANT WAIT TO PLAY THIS
and I've been digging out as many videos as I can find and trying to find out as much as I can about the game but one thing has been bugging me

I know in Crysis 1 a lot of things where fully destructible an I'm curious to know if the buildings around New York will crumble with enough dealt damage and if so can you access the interior of the buildings if you damage one of the walls enough ?
I'm English and was just wondering that when Americans say 'fall' they mean autumn and when they say 'holiday' they mean Christmas

any news on an official release date hit me up

Thanks

certain walls are not meant to be penetrated, the most you can do is crack them, so there is no such thing as "complete" destructibility in that everything will break, only most things

Judging by the incredibly destructive battle with the pinger, environments are not 100% destructible and accessible.

So far, the only mention of a release window is holiday 2010. A smart move considering Halo Reach is big competition, for the 360 at least.

Wasnt as much destruction as i thought, but it is still quite impressive.

I love the quick real time cut scenes when he blows the skyscraqers over.

LOL It can't be THAT destructible. Like blowing up one skyscraqer with 5 grenades or something. (But it COULD happen.)

heh, surround a building with C4 then drop it. pretty much make your computer go to 1 FPS for 5 mins.

Im kinda worried about Black Ops hurting Crysis sales

Crytek has mentioned that not all buildings will be accessible, partly due to legal issues, partly due to the shear amount of time it would take to recreate every building in NYC. It takes hours to make one room, much less thousands. I would expect that pretty much all objects will be destructible, and quite a few structures that are key parts to the story line will be at least partially destructible.

it would be severely boring if I could go through EVERY stupid little room in a skyscraqer, Crytek is keeping us on track so we dont waste time and power by not making everything acessable

Well i kinda hoped for more destructibility, at least from the buildings you can enter(like the main subway station, it would be cool to take it down and use that to kill the pinger.
