As i was looking at an interview from Todd, he might have made a mistake and spilled out something that he didnt want to say. He was asked why they decided to make an elder scrolls game in skyrim, which he responded that they really wanted to make it in skyrim becuase that is where the human race started in the elder scrolls history, and they this man worshiped dragons, which they summoned. Therefore i concluded that the dragons are back from extinction becuase there is a faction in skyrim that managed to bring the dragons back by summoning them somehow, what do you think?

No. They came back because the Nords started a civil war. Please do your research.


We already knew from past games that Man was born in Skyrim, Nords worshipped Dragons, and that ancient Nedes could speak to/summon them.

Um I don't think they were extinct.

I never have noticed him saying this... But wouldn't it be strange to worship something you summon yourself? Or does it mean that they kinda made a portal, or a gate to another world and they "accidently" (sorry if incorrect spelled) got dragons into skyrim?

They don't. It was the last event in a prophecy that told of the return. Seriously, just watch the trailer...

thats why i didnt quote them, because i didnt remeber, but i looked at it in gametrailers in the extended cuts interview. the reason that i thought this was because he seemed to cough after he said it,which might be an indication that he didnt want to say it or that he was cold.

Reason why dragons are back = plot of main quest = details not released yet.

We don't know how they came back, we only know why, to fufill a prophecy, that prophecy is also in the books (something wasted on the majority of this generation) but something has changed. if you care to know why, look up the Lore. you wont be experiencing it or any more answers until the game comes out.

Aaand I don't remember where I read or heard it but it was said that Dragons are Aedra (gods, nstuff... Opposite of Daedra) offpsrings of Alduin. Derptality!

Maybe the mythic dawn woke the dragons
Maybe some dragons from akavir moved to tamriel and it's starting becoming a war again
Maybe since akavir/alduin is a god of time alduin and his dragons time-warped to the time 200 years later after Dagon's Defeat/Oblivion Crisis when the king has slain and a civil war begun

The dragons didn't come back because of the prophecy. The prophecy just tells of the events that will lead to their return. It's perfectly reasonable to think that someone maybe summoned the dragons.
