How did I get here, exactly...?

Post » Fri Nov 18, 2011 1:33 pm

So I completed Old World Blues the other day, and, simply because the Think Tank told me not, I explored every last place (thank god for Explorer :D). I may have still missed some things; unmarked locations and oddly placed holodisks, etc.

I must have, because no where could I find an explanation of HOW the Courier got to the Big Empty in the first place. One moment I am looking at a broken down thingamajig from space, and the next I have no brain, no spine, and no heart.

Oh, you can find how they removed your brain, spine and heart, and even the why of it. Not to mention why you're the only one the procedure actually worked on.

But my brother and I both can not find anything or get a dialogue option to ask, how we got to the Big Mt. Labs in the first place.

You are teleported by the satelite. It is a sad and kind of lazy method of bringing you there, but that is bascially how it happens. They could have used the train tunnel not too far from the Drive-In for a proper boots method, but then they would of had to script a more elaborate capture sequence.

It was very lazy of them. I was disappointed by this. The rest of the DLC is pretty cool though.

Well if that is true, how does it work? Why can't I, with my new super brain and all my INT and Science and Repair at 100 by the time I leave, take the satellite apart and make my own teleportation gun?

...

Wait I a minute... I think I got it!

You mean the transportalponder? :hehe:

Though a gun like the one in Half-Life: Opposing Force would be a nice addition. Send fiends to Big Mountain to have what little is left of their brains removed

Now that would be a nice post OWB quest. Fatigue and transportalize NPC to Big MT.
