Where are the patches and fixes??
So pissed, I'm a huge fallout fan, didn't have any problems last gen, so many bugs this gen.
Is it because Bethesda used the same engine on a new system?
Had the same bug on Xbox One. I ended up quitting to dashboard and performing a power cycle (hard reset).
I dunno if the PS4 has a similar function, but if it does it might be worth a try.
Pretty much the complete opposite of everything you wrote in this post is in fact the truth.
I mean, there's not one thing that's accurate.
1. There's been 2 patches already.
2. There were so many game breaking bugs in Fallout 3 and New Vegas that I don't even know where to begin.
3. Fallout 4 is based on a new engine.
It's by far, without doubt, the most stable Fallout release they've put out. I've pretty much been playing at least 8 hours a day (conservatively) since two days after it was released. I've had 3 crashes and experienced no bugs. Even bugs I've seen reported by multiple people such as certain quest bugs and frame rate slow downs I have not experienced.
If you're on PC, get rid of the mods and set it to normal resolution. Then make sure you have nothing tweaked that we all know will cause problems. If you're on a console, close all suspended apps in the background, make sure it's running cool and has plenty of ventilation. I use a 3rd party cooler/dock station. Also, if you play with the controller charging, use a cell phone charger instead of putting the extra strain on the console's power supply.
Seriously, I've had 3 crashes, all were caused by Youtube running in the background. You figure out how many hours 10 a day times however many days it's been since release.
Hope this helps.
Must be your first Bethesda game. But on the bright side, at least it is playable unlike the vast majority of games the last 1-2 years.
I have found fewer bugs and glitches than in Skyrim. Not to say that there aren't some, but that's been my experience.
Did you play Fallout 3 and New Vegas when they came out? PC users will always have different experiences due to everyone having different hardware. However, console users should have the same experience due to the hardware being the same unless the console has been modded.
Cool, you're on the PS4. They are supposed to be all the same, so I think there's hope for you!
This is what I would do, in this order (assuming you have the disc and didn't download the game) ...
1. Make sure you are connected to the net.
2. Backup your saved games:
Connect a USB thumb drive then go to 'Settings' - 'Application Saved Data Management' - 'Saved Data in System Storage' - 'Copy to USB Storage Device' - 'Fallout 4'. Select whichever saved games you want and 'Settings' and 'Controls', then click on 'Copy' and it will save them to your thumb drive.
3. Delete Fallout completely from your system:
Find the Fallout 4 app icon and tap the 'Options' button on the controller then select 'Delete'.
Go to 'Notifications' - 'Downloads' and delete any Fallout patches that are showing up as downloaded by going to them and hitting 'Options' on the controller then 'Delete'.
4. Pop the install disc out, reboot the PS4, and pop the disk back in.
At this point it should download and install the latest patch as it's installing the game.
Maybe something got corrupted. You are not supposed to unplug the PS4 when it's in sleep mode/power saving mode. If you do that can corrupt data. Or if you had a power outtage or power surge while it was in power save mode and you didn't know it, it could corrupt data as well.
I really hope this helps. We'll try to help you as best we can.

Seriously. I have 24 settlements. Over 400 settlers and don't care anymore when they get attacked while I fast travel. Even with a concrete perimeter, 100 defense in each one... the settlements still get destroyed and settlers die. Only good thing it that the settlements fix themselves and attacks rarely happen anyway.
I'm the opposite, despite being on PC.
I had a lot of issues with Fallout 3 (that one was the most unstable for me), New Vegas was better but not perfect (mostly CTD's), but Fallout 4 - it's been perfectly stable for me. No crashes. No game-stopping bugs. Only one oddity during a certain BoS quest, but that wasn't game breaking, I got around it. I'm not using any mods as it's my first playthrough. But overall, I'm surprised that I haven't had any big issues. I'm not complaining. I hope it continues
That has always been my impression as well.
The only real bug I've had to deal with are the level 4 vendors. I hope that gets fixed in the next patch. I've had some graphics glitches on the pc but mostly they have been funny like yao gui stuck in mid air after being killed by a Deathclaw.
It is a completely bug ridden game. Some are just minor but reflect a total lack of QC which is what the thread is about.
Some simple things like no consistency in terminal colours when wearing power armour. Sometimes it's green, sometimes amber (standard colours) is still a bug even if it doesn't affect gameplay..
Also regarding terminals and power armour, why do some terminals not allow access when wearing PA? I'm pretty sure this is also a bug.
It just isn't ready for release but that said, it hasn't affected my enjoyment significantly.
Agree that this game has issues. I played for about 2 weeks with no problems (so I know it's not my hardware). Then it started to CTD after playing for a few hours. No problem...Reboot and re-launch game and it's good for a few more hours. Now it's to the point that I can't play at all. I picked up some new power armor. I'm in Red Rocket and try to interact with the power armor station. As soon as I try to interact with it the game crashes.
I have read posts here and on other forums that suggest things like "get an older build for your video drivers" or "locate the such-and-such file and edit it to blah, blah, blah." I'm not doing all that. That is not a fix.
I spent a lot of money to be able to play this game (bought an entire new computer specifically for this game) and it needs to be fixed in a bad way.
buggy? i've had the game day one and its one of the least buggy bethesda games in a long time and its quite stable for me and runs fine on my xbox.
Well, from my experience and from what I've seen in general, this game may have the fewest bugs than any other game Bethesda has released until now. But well, it still has a lot and many people will bump into all of them.
Pretty much this.
That's not to say there aren't bugs - this is a huge game.
all help.
