How did you find about Skyrim?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 1:44 pm

How did you find about Skyrim? I have checked on Friday as my daily ritual to see if any anouncement was made. Sadly none. Saturday being a busy day, wife's company Christmas party, I didn't check the site out. I come here to general section and I saw a post about "Skyrim" question. I asked how do you know TES V is called Skyrim. So I went onto Gamespot afterwards and I saw the anouncement made there. I think I wet myself. I came back here right away. I was shocked to see that it was mentioned that it was announced. So I check out the forum we have for Skyrim now. I find it abit funny now.

First it was "why won't they make an anounncement.", now it's "why don't we have screen shots", I guess we are never happy eh? :P No matter what, as soon as we get something, we want something more. :D

I can't remember, but has it been said if this is for the current consoles? The 360 and PS3? I will hate to see what the PC requirements are.

I stopped by CD and saw the subtitle to the VGA thread. At first, I did not believe. The official trailer soon changed my mind.....

I haven't seen anything to indicate the console makers are putting out something new for 2011.

I was surfing the interwebz and in the comments to some news article someone made a completely off topic remark about the next elderscrolls taking place in skyrim and I was like huh, darn kids babbling on about made up stuff

so I'd figure I'd google to see what new rumours there were

and uh found out it was legit

watched trailer

started singing and dancing for a bit

and uh came here

I watched the VGA's but I think I've known about Skyrim for what at least 6 months. Although I had no clue on the release date, the name or anything else about the game besides the obvious signs that Bethesda Game Studios was working on it I mean they allowed Obsidian to work on New Vegas.

I was watching the VGAs live and literally almost fainted when Todd Howard starting talking about it.

I found out about it when Bethesda registered the domain name a couple of years ago.

Alternate (and some might say real) answer: I was visiting my parents and my friend, who was watching the VGAs at the time, sent me a string of excited texts.

Seeing as how it's coming out in 11 months and no new consoles have been announced, I think it's safe to say it's coming out on current gen consoles.

If you are asking whether it will be PC exclusive, we can only hope. we don't know. Though I don't see why they wouldn't release it for consoles seeing as how they have with all of their games since Morrowind.

Came online here during the VGAs (couldn't watch them myself, so I decided to use you people as a source of constant updates) and learned about it that way.

I logged onto the forums today to check the Oblivion Mods section because I had just started to get back into the game. I saw the "V - Skyrim," section and broke out into song and dance.

Fickle bunch we gamers! (Ok, some gamers!)

I saw it on the SVGAs as well. I was the second person, excluding mods/staff, in the new forums but missed being first to post by seconds. I refreshed and someone had already started a "your reaction" thread so I just replied in that instead.

I saw the announcement at the so called multi-platform gaming website www.n4g.com.

Finally TES V - just under a year away. I expect a huge blowout at E3 2011

*fixed*

I was sitting around, reading the forums, when they said the VGAs would be on in 2 hours. I had absolutely no hope for a TESV announcement (I thought it was just impossible), I was actually interested in seeing what BioWare was going to announce. I was watching the TV in my kitchen as I was cleaning dishes. The screen showed snowy mountains, but I remembered the teaser from a few weeks ago where it showed a helicopter flying around. My first thought was that they were going to announce yet another modern war game.

Suddenly, the guys in the robes walked onto the stage. I don't remember exactly what was going through my head when I saw that, but it was definitely a form of surprise. Suddenly, the announcer said "Todd Howard". I dropped the bowl I was holding and ran to the TV. He started talking about Oblivion and Fallout 3, and that they've been waiting a long time for the right time to announce their project. I started shaking.

Suddenly, the trailer plays and I hear the epic music. The narrator talks about the Elder Scrolls, and the "sons of Skyrim". As soon as the trailer finished, I ran to my computer and exclaimed all the built up excitement that has been sitting dormant in my body for years.

To be honest, I was very happy that I wasn't expecting a ESV announcement at all, because the reaction I got when Todd walked on to the stage was purely amazing.

Having a nice weekend, out with friends Friday, school Christmas concert Saturday afternoon, spent the rest of the time with my love. Monday morning log on and discover everyone just smoking their post-coital cigarettes and sighing. Missed it all as usual, I have to work all day too, couldn't even log on at first, which actually set me wondering, with all the anticipation last week at forum changes. Anyways, I've just been teaching rampaging 6-7year-old barbarians, so who needs Nords? With or without big swords.
