How did you find out about Brink?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 3:05 am

Title says it all. Just curious for a quick sentence or two post to get an idea of how people are coming across the game.

I found out about Brink from the Choir of Guns article on IGN, 4/24/11

Debut or cinematic trailer. I forgot which one. A little over a year ago though.

Heard about it two years ago, when they had a teaser trailer.

Didn't get into it until about this time last year, when they released the cinematic trailer.

First time I saw Brink was the cinematic trailer on YouTube as an ad before my actual video, I think, fall last year. I was interested and did a little research on the game's site, thought it was pretty cool.

Forgot about it all winter. :sadvaultboy:

Caught a reference to it again late March and was like "OH YEAH! THAT WAS COOL!"

Then I joined up here, and it was cool. B)

Bethesda was announcing a new IP at E3 a while ago. Everyone thought it was going to be Skyrim but it was actually Brink.

Needless to say, despite being a Bethesda fan, I've followed the game on external news sites and will be purchasing it for the PC.

E3 2009 when they showed the teaser trailer, just the fact that it was from SD got me hooked.

I have been gaming with my friend Tony for about 7 years. So when we buy games, they're usually the same. We both buy Halo, Gears of war, Cod, we both plan to buy Brink and some other titles. We seldom buy something that the other person won't. So he said he found an awsome game called Brink and told me to check it out and say if I will buy it or not. So I checked it out around December 2010 and joined this forum back in January when I couldn't find enough info on the game.

It seems like with a lot of the best games that I've ever played, I hear about them years in advance and think, "that's cool". That's how it was with Fallout 3, and that's how I eel Brink is going to turn out. I actually first read about Fallout 3 in Game Informer back in something like 2005 or 2006 on the way to a dump run with my brother.

Heh, we had a thread that was similar to this and my answer was that I've heard there was a FPS shooter in which the setting was jokingly referred to as a "Dude Island"/sausage-fest from various people (real life and on gaming blogs--including girl gamer blogs, lol), hee.

I didn't check much about it then until much later on, when I heard it mentioned in a magazine and started seeing the colorful screenshots and the awesome archetypes, so I decided to go to the official game site and forums and check it out. The setting, the colors, the objective-teamwork gameplay/SMART sounded really interesting. I was so happy when I heard of the different classes: I always loved being Medics/Healers in games. (And I was really hopeful when I heard female characters may be one of their priorities for Brink 2 or new IP, then I was like, okay, then, I will buy your game this time. :) )

Found out at gamesas.com a couple years ago maybe. Was there to look up some Oblivion stuff and saw Brink under the "In Development" section they have.

I found out about it from simple ads with the hooded dude and the title displayed, but the name just seemed so simple and bland and I didn't see that it was by Bethesda so I never really took notice of it. That is until about 3 months ago when a friend on Xbox LIVE told me about it. He made it sound so interesting that I looked it up and have been anxiously awaiting it's release date since.

Saw the last 20 seconds of a commercial in... I think it was November of 2010, anyway the art style and free-running is what made me curious to check out more. I'm glad I did... most games I see on TV I just forget about.
