ESO is right around the corner, and I was planning on playing it but recent info deterred me from that...However, it was still awesome how I discovered ESO:

On the same morning it was announced (before I knew), I was browsing the forums. Usually, I browse by the "View New Content" tab instead of clicking a forum. I saw a topic that was asking a question that I thought was Skyrim related but after clicking it, the first image I see is the forum background you currently see. I was confused, but seeing 4 words that I thought would never exist made me go, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqyixwqiCag. Shortly after, I saw that it was GameInformer's world exclusive cover reveal that announced it (Which GI is famous for doing). For even better context, about a couple weeks before, some rumors about a online outlet opening up for Zenimax churned up talks about a TES online. Of course, those rumors got shot down by everyone. Boy, what a crazy chain of events!

So how did you find out about ESO? Was it the same day it was announced, or a little later? Were you a TES online believer before ESO was announced?

From everywhere. It is literally everywhere.

An FF14 guildmate told me he was in the beta for ESO. I laughed and told him an online Elder Scrolls game was the worst thing I'd ever heard of, and I couldn't believe they'd gone through with it.

If you mean gaming news sites, ya I remember that. ESO made everyone (IGN, Gamespot, etc.) blow up.

Originally on these forums. I basically forgot about it an dismissed it until my wife got upset at me for ignoring beta invites and had me try out the last one.

I follow MMO development news as that is what I mainly play, I get lonely in single players games with no one to talk to.

I first saw a video released about this new game called Elder Scrolls Online. Got me hooked and signed up for beta right away. I have been following the updates and doing betas (twice) ever since. Can't wait for March 30

I was one of the ones that begged and begged for this game...I don't know when or how I found out, but lets just say I was on it pretty quick.

Back when it was first announced and literally was a WoW clone. I ignored it for quite some time.
