How did you get into Fallout 3

Post » Mon Aug 02, 2010 3:14 am

Because of Oblivion and Bethesda. I learned that it was "Oblivion with guns", and that was reason enough for me to get it.

My brother bought it because he wanted it, and then he played it for about a week and got bored of it. Then I picked it up and now I am the only one who plays the darn game. Oh well, at least it wasn't a total waste of money.

I played FO2 on the PS1(?). The idea of a post-nuke rpg/fps hybrid intrigued me. I expected a helluva lot less than the game actually delivered though. looking forward to New Vegas....

I never knew Fallout 2 was on the PS1, guess I learned something.

Anyways, fallout veteran here, started out as Fallout 2, interesting game, went back and played the original. I appreciated the gameplay of FO3, since I'm a FPS player also, but I'm disappointed about the water-downed roleplaying system and the dialogue, which It's not as elegance and sophiscated as FO1 and 2. ^_^

well i first saw fallout 3 in a preview in my game magazine, and i was still in my 'STALKER' periods :P so i i dicided, hmm another post-apocalyptic adventure, from the creators of morrowind and oblivion, that has to be good, so on the release day i bought it immediatly. now im so hooked up on the fallout universe i bought fallout 1&2 and tactics, and even for 10year old games they still rock like hell!!

My friend took me into town on the day it was released and he bought it, then went on about how cool it was to me. This was October last year.

A couple of months later I picked up my own copy.

RIP social life. :(

The elder scrolls were fun. I liked the things I saw in the development of Fallout 3 and decided to get it. Bethesda game studios is the reason I tried this game. These guys rock

I saw the poster for it, and read of how people in DC were upset that the poster was on some of their bus stops. I had to buy it. If it's about war, and it makes people upset, it's gold. And I just bought the trilogy pack to play the previous games.

My dad got me into Oblivion in 2007, and in 2008 he told me that "the Oblivion guys" were making a new game. So I followed it until its release, bought it a few days later, and then got all of my friends into it.

I patiently sat down after Fallout 2 and stared into a wall for ten years until someone finally had the sense to make Fallout 3. Where my own sense was during that decade, I'll never know.

I played it at a friends. The music drove me away. At first. Then it became catchy as I hacked random people to death with a ripper.

Never played 1 & 2 (Im one of the sad "Never heard of it till now" guys.) And plan on buying them when i get a new computer.

I wasn't keeping up with my gaming news last year and wasn't even aware that Fallout 3 was coming out. A friend of mine mentioned it and Bethesda in the same breath and after the endless hours spent playing Oblivion I knew I had to give Fallout 3 a look.

There are so many who came from Oblivion/TES and I never played any of those games. Looks like I need to look into them, with so much love here on this thread.

Brother just bought it one day. I had no inclanation to get it. To me it as much fallout as tactics was, in other word just barely.

Because of Fallout 1 and 2. I wish the reason was because of Oblivion... Less worries and more fun.

I started with FO1, then played Wasteland. Then FO2 and Tactics, then FO3.

Same with me, in the same order.

I saw the add for it on tv and thought "Huh, might be good."
The day it came out i saw it was for the 360 and made by bethesda and thought "Huh, might be good."
Birthday rolls around, mom buys it for me as a gift, and there was much rejoicing.

I started with Wasteland in the '80s, and I still might like it better than Fallout. :o I picked up Wasteland because it was made by Interplay, and I already loved The Bard's Tale series.

When I saw Fallout in the store when I was in college and the back of the box said, "Remember Wasteland?", I picked it up and walked straight to the checkout line. :D
