This is my first Fallout game. I bought it because I loved Oblivion.

Also, Oblivion is a game, not a series.

Me too, and seconded that the series is The Elder Scrolls, not Oblivion, which is the most recent game in the afore mentioned series

Same here, but I never knew Fallout 3 was made by Bethesda when I first played. This was my first time playing a fallout game and my uncle reccomended it.

I grew up on Fallout 1 basically, so when I heard a company as great as Bethesda was making a true sequel to the franchise, I kept track of it from day one. :fallout:

Great thread by the way OP, should be interesting to see everyones response. :tops:

It's kind of funny because I went to the movie store and I thought I was renting a different game but they accidently switched it, so I went home to play Red Faction but I saw fallout in the box, so I didn't feel like driving back there to return it so I played for awhile and it's know my most favorite game.

Played Fallout 1 and 2. But I also played all the Elder Scrolls games, so it was a win win for me.

That's the kind of story I wanted to hear.

I was at a high school friends bar-b-que in California. We had roll played together for years. Anyway, my friend is a game programmer, so I was talking about how much I loved the Fallout games (1 & 2) and Wasteland. So he says hold on a minute, I want you to tell that to this other friend of mine. So he goes and gets some guy that he's worked with, a scotish fellow by the name of Fergus Urquart. So I tell the guy how much I liked those games. And he says thank you. Turns out that he was some lead designer of those games.

So I have to play Fallout just cause I met one of its founders.

I heard about Fallout somewhere along the line, but all I knew was it was a post apocalyptic game "similar" to Oblivion. My friend got it, and I loved it, so I decided I'd pick it up.

I'm fluent in English so I never really did anything in school English lessons except talk with people. One day I happened to talk with this dude and eventually he mentioned Fallout series. I decided to buy them.
I started with FO1 and 2, though, since NMA was first Fallout forum I registered into and there I was initially brainwashed into anti-FO3. Luckily, discussions here made me realize the truth.

i had this thing about new age games with great graphics, specifically fps type of games or sci fi 3ps, upon playing some games with great dx10 graphics, i saw fallout 3 is also in that category.

i never played any fallout games or bethesda softworks product, this is my first crash to fallout 3...

i find it the best rpg in my genre so far, with real time action or fps/3ps character view :fallout: superb gameplay at replayability

Oblivion was my first RPG, I thought if Beth could create something this good can't wait for there next and that was Fallout 3.

Because I played Fallout 2 and Tactics, they were both fantastic, so naturally I bought Fallout 3 which is just as fantastic.
