how did you hear about fallout 4?

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 10:49 pm

I got so drunk one day i decided to type fallout 4 into google and the E3 stuff came up, i nearly punched my monitor while yelling LIES!!!!

Long story short, my random fallout 4 search ended up securing me a pipboy edition.

You got drunk one day? I don't believe you. Seems so out of character.

I think my friend linked me to the countdown page after it came up. And I went nuts.

I knew Fallout 4 would be at E3 because Bethesda was doing their own showcase, so I waited patiently and watched E3 live via a stream. Was pleasantly surprised by the amount of stuff they actually showed.

I got a sort of psychic holographic message from Gkk7z. (or I was drunk)

"Saying help us two caps you are our only hope." So i put down my beer and got back on the forums.

I remember it well. It was June 3rd, and I had been woken by strange noises coming from the kitchen. After slowly entering the room, wielding an old teddy bear as the only meaningful weapon I could find, I discovered none other than TODD HOWARD HIMSELF sitting on my kitchen floor, chanting. He told me that Fallout 4 would be announced within a few hours, that the countdown had already begun. He gave me a list of topics that he wanted me to speculate on, told me to shake things up on the forum. He said that if I didn't he knew where I lived, and he would move things around in my refrigerator if I refused. And so I had no choice but to accept. Oh, and he also told me to use Liam Neeson as my avatar.

Not really. I read about the countdown online, and proceeded to go "Fallout Crazy" all over again!!! :D

@2-Caps, you promised you wouldn't tell anyone about that lol :bonk:

I loved the Fallout series so much, that about a year or so ago when i heard about the rumors that bethesda was researching the boston area, a couple people speculated it was for Fallout 4. It was never confirmed so it went down in the books as pure speculation.

But i had faith :) and it paid off when I watched E3 live on youtube.

I knew about the E3 conference being a thing, but Gopher made me aware of the exact time and date of the reveal trailer. I came home early that day and watched the countdown on his livestream. Excitment was through the roof ;-)))

I'd been following the hype via YouTube and news sites for nearly 3 years, especially during 'The Survivor 2299' era. I was pretty gutted when it turned out to be a hoax, then moved on and didn't really think about it much until I saw the E3 showcase announcement in February.

My hype escalated when I thiiiiink...a French Bethesda page on twitter told a fan "patience ;)" when they asked about Fallout 4.

I was in work when my phone flashed up saying Bethesda and a few others were tweeting "Please Stand By" - then I lost my mind because I knew what that meant :P

I was on another forum called Undead Labs which revolved around a zombie game called State of Decay. I look over to the comment box that functions kind of like a mini-twitter for members and one of them mentioned that Fallout 4 had just been announced. Mind blown, I immediately raced to this forum and got on the hype train.

This just gave me an image of Liam Neeson in a leather jacket and denim jeans stalking his house, armed with an old teddy bear, for an intruder. Thanks for the laugh. :D

I think I was looking around at Rock Band 4 info and saw something about a Fallout 4 teaser trailer. Though I was super-excited about RB4, Fallout 4's teaser blew me away. 2 of my top 5 gaming series released within (roughly) a month, and with Tomb Raider (not actually in my top 5), makes this an amazing year for games I like (more like an amazing 35 days). Add that to Xbox Ones backwards capability coming soon and I could not be happier about my chosen system (no hate towards the PS4 and no comment directed at PC).

I follow Bethesda daily so it's always an announcement I knew would come one day, but just didn't know when. When I finally heard about it (watching the show coverage) I was more surprised at how soon it was coming than the announcement of the game itself.

I heard something was going on with the series. I ended up at the countdown. After the trailer dropped I was at gamestop so fast the pre-orders weren't up. Three times.

I new (had a feeling plus the leak) they were working on it and that it made sense it would be announce in 2015. So at the beginning of every month I would type in Fallout 4 to see if anything came up. To my surprise I actually googled it the day the first trailer was released and was pleasantly surprised.

Of all things, I was on BBC's website for the daily news shortly before E3, and they had an article about the teaser and Bethesda's upcoming showcase. I was caught off-guard, because I've been checking for updates constantly for years and it had started to slip my mind for a few weeks. Of course all those years I knew they were working on it and I knew Boston was the most likely setting, so the biggest shock was how soon the release date is.

I know this is off-topic, but I think my first mod will have to be changing the name of Luck Training to "Good Luck" Training, complete with voice sample from the movie every time you select it ;)

I knew it was coming when Bethesda announced that they would have their own E3 conference. The countdown and pre-E3 trailer were very exciting, and that E3 live-stream was amazing! I squealed like a little girl through the whole thing (my wife can attest to that--she came in a few times to see what all the squealing and giggling was about).

I was visited in a dream by a dead rock star and a weird naked Indian.

I'd been checking the web for Fallout 4 since 2013. One day the countdown appeared. I actually stopped work the day of the first trailer to watch it on my phone. Just sat at my desk with the gleeful expression of a kid at Christmas.

Since the 2299 hoax. I knew that was a hoax but spark it my interest in Fallout agian. After leaked document I figured it would be shown at E3. Bethesda doing a conference just confirmed what I already thought.

By the way did 2299 hoax guy ever make whatever mod he was suppose to making?
