How did you hear of "Skyrim"?

Post » Fri Jun 25, 2010 7:47 am

I learned that there was a province named Skyrim back in 1995, when I bought Arena. There was a game guide, which I think I still have somewhere, with a map of the entire continent of Tamriel. Soon after that, in 1996, I fell in love with Diablo and then Diablo 2, and basically forgot about Elder Scrolls games until 2004, when I bought Morrowind. I have not stopped playing ES games since. Except a short break with Fallout 3.

Started with Morrowind. Loved Oblivion. I heard about Skyrim by going to IGN the day after the VGAs. First thing that was on there was "Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announcement and trailer" I was unbelievable happy!

i didnt "hear" about skyrim i awoke back to consciousness from my meditation sensing a disturbance in the universe on a mass scale..... it was then i knew that the next elder scrolls game had been announced.

strangely enough i bought morrowind in 06 for xbox and was amazed by the story line and inventiveness of it and was later ranting to my friends about it and they said "elder scrolls 3 morrowind? ive got oblivion." so i later traded in morrowind for oblivion. then later rebought them both for pc. been loving them ever since.

I first played Oblivion starting last summer and played ever since. My friend let me borrow it but after a while I made it clear he wasn't getting it back. I then tried morrowing followed by daggerfall then Arena, but never got in to far into them though I will get into Morrowind. I first heard of Skyrim when I saw a post on UEP that "Skyrim" was trademarked and that Beth would probably anounce it soon. That got me to exicited so I decided thatI'd check back every now and then, I was just so lucky to hear about it's anouncement the day of it, likewise it's full trailer. So that's my story.

I've played Arena, Morrowind, and Oblivion.

How I HEARD of Skyrim? Easy. I'm flippin' psychic as hell. I randomly decided to google TES 5 half an hour after it was announced. I was like "HORY [censored]" and flipped. I then proceeded to quickly calm the f*** down.

Started with Oblivion in 2007, loved it. Than i moved on to FO3, and i loved it more. Then, i was watching the VGA's with my dad thinking "god, what a terrible awards show" then Todd came out and i thought "could this be?" Then when the dragon came out in the trailer i stood on the couch and jumped up and down screaming.

Started with daggerfall a few years later played some of arena but it was like 5 years old by then and kept crashing on my newer machine so I never finished it. Played battlespire fun game but easily one of the buggiest in history, Redguard and of course Morrowind and Oblivion. I saw the news on gamespot shortly a few hours after they announced it I can remember getting chills hearing the music at the end teaser.

Started with Morrowind. Played a lot with it. Of course I played lotsoflotsoflotsof times with Oblivion.
And the last time i was looking for mods and such, around 2010 december, I was getting the latest patch I think. elderscrolls.com popped up of course, and the title of the page... The Elder Scroll V: Skyrim
Suddenly, I was like O_O Never heard about it, watched the trailer, dropped my jaws, and began to wait anxiously. :D

I've been a fan since Daggerfall. And I learned of Skyrim by googleing 'The Elder Scrolls: V' once a day, every day. Took about a year of that.... But it finally yielded results.

I started in Morrowind. I found about Skyrim when I was watching the VGAs...I saw Todd come out and I was thinking could it be? Then when he started to talk about Oblivion I was on the edge of my seat...then the trailer rolled. Once the narrator said "The Elder Scrolls told of their return" needless to say my jaw dropped to floor...and I saw the 11-11-11 roll and I was speechless.

My first Elder Scrolls game was Oblivion, which I got in 2008 as the second game I got on PS3. I was instantly in love with the series, even though I had no idea what was going on for a long time because I was too caught up in the world and game to listen to people speak. A few months before it was announced, I kept searching for information on the game, searching for news every week, and then every few days as time went on, as I was sure it must be announced soon, it had been over 4 years. Then, I was fortunate enough to find it the day after it was announced.

Typing ES 5 every day for 3 years until one day...... my life changed

I should have took a pic of my face when I saw SKYRIM staring me in the face, lets say it was an facial expression only reserved to seeing God, seeing an actual alien, and ES games.

I'm a veteran if that means that I started the series at Morrowind, but Oblivion was the game that made me really love the series(yes I'm young since I'm 17, but not all young gamers are "leet"-speaking CoD players, so don't even mention it :flame: ). Later went back too Morrowind. So I have been waiting for information on TES:V since 2009(unrealistic to expect anything before at least 2-3 years have passed when it comes to TES).

I heard about Skyrim when this discussion board was confined to speculation threads in the general Elder Scrolls section about what the next game would be and when it would be announced. It must have been about a year ago, and people were still betting mostly on Skyrim, myself included. I guess we all found the answer last December.

I started out w/ Oblivion, and loved it. But then I got morrowind and to be honest, it's way better. I heard about Skyrim when they announced it at the VGA's. I damn near had a coronary when Todd Howard came out.

How I heard of Skyrim itself? My bro, who is even more of a gamer than I am but a different kind, walked in my room one evening while I was doing my homework...told me that they had just announced the next Elder Scrolls game which would be Skyrim and then ran out of the room before I could ruin his ears with my squeeling. Bro, thanks for that. I wasn't able to focus on my work after that due to fangirlism.

How I got into Elder Scrolls? Saw Morrowind: The game of the year edition lying in the cheap stuff bin in the store and seeing how I was really getting bored over the summer I picked it up. Best desicion ever.

I started with oblivion in 2007. I heard about skyrim by seeing a very familiar image in a picture of the most anticipated games of 2011 on a website called imgur in mid-january. I clicked to enlarge and sure enough it said skyrim with the logo. I Immediately thought this was like some sort of compilation of imaginary games that someone wanted, but sure enough, I searched for skyrim and watched the teaser trailer. I COULD NOT CONTROL MY HAPPINESS. I very nearly cried tears of joy because I loved oblivion so much, and I, like others, had been randomly searching for news on the fifth elder scrolls game for quite some time. I was one of many who were refreshing the elder scrolls page, or trying to get it to load rather, when they released the gameplay trailer. I've watched that trailer at LEAST 20 times.

I first heard of TES when Daggerfall came out. I didnt' play my first TES game until Morrowind, then I went back and played Daggerfall, then I played Oblivion when it came out. I heard about Skyrim while watching the VGAs; my wife and I had just gotten home from shopping and I turned on Spike just as Todd was walking on stage.

I'm a Daggerfall veteran myself. Spent many many years honing my skills as a dark elf mage on there. Moved to Morrowind as soon as it hit stores. Same for Oblivion. I intend to devout the same enthusiasm for the shop window to Skyrim upon it's release.

As for how I heard about Skyrim? Well, what can I say. I'm a nerd. I've been looking for scraps of info since just before the release of Fallout 3. Lol
