How did you name your enchanting items?

Post » Mon Feb 01, 2016 1:26 am

I made a sword with storm enchanting and name it "Stormblade".

I named my warhammer "Flamehammer".

And my shield "Tower Shield".

I see a lot of people naming their items depending on enchantment, but I tend to name them depending on the character I'm playing. I use names like 'Skeever Cleaver' or 'Warbrand'. I'm not that creative, and even though I've been playing the game a long time, I only recently started getting into enchanting.

I usually go with the most silly names. Sometimes I'll put a nice RP-ing sword name for the hell of it, but most of the time it's names like-

-Mr Stabs U (Ebony dagger)

-Catch! (An Ebony Bow)

-Mack daddy D (An enchanted ring)

-Colonoscopy, a great sword used by Darth Colon. :shifty:

And other silly stuff I can't say cause I'd get a warning point. :P

It's been a long time since I've bothered enchanting and naming weapons, but, as I recall, I tend to be practical - I'll put an 'a' or '_' at the start of the name so it's always at the top of inventory. For example, 'aDagger, aSword, aBow' - I know these are my customized ones.

In the beginning, I was fond of naming weapons. It eventually came to the point whether or not my current character was inspired enough in the heat of the moment to name them. It has finally evolved into nothing more than a [TAG] to easily identify them in the menu for both usage and sale.

... even now, it is somewhat sporadic.

I love your quote. Mad me laugh hard.

I names my sword in a recent play-through "FLUFFY BUNNY" because everyone has a Stomblade, or a Dragonflame, but what person can live down the shame of being killed by the FLUFFY BUNNY!

I made a personal mod mainly for amusemant. It causes any enemies hit by the weapons enchantment to dance uncontrollably to the Pokemon Theme "Gotta catch them all". It last for twenty seconds and they cannot harm or be harmed while it's happening.

That would be a funny way to kill the enemy. They may die happy and go to the happy part of sovngarde.

Sometimes, especially towards the end of the game, I'll name my weapons and armor similarly, like Dragonborn Sword, Dragonborn Bow. This makes using the inventory/favorites MUCH easier for me :)

I only actually name my final pieces as I usually use fortify enchanting potions and naming enchanted gear cuts into the timer of the potion.

Yeah I usually enchant multiple items with one potion so im in such a hurry that I ALWAYS forget to name them, except once when someone on here reminded me I named the water breathing ring Bubbles, the pickpocket/lockpick gloves Jack and the dagger Shanker.

You can actually pickpocket Shanks during incarceration in the mines I keep forgetting to try to enchant them.

Orandir has fun names for his weapons. Two daedric bows named Blaze (fire damage) and Reaper (soul trap), and a pair of smithed up elven daggers named Leech (absorb health) and Sandman (absorb stamina).

Birgitte names her clothes and jewelry. My favorite are the alchemy ring and necklace named "SCIENCE!!!"

I use names like Icy, Frosty, Smoky, Tiresome as in...

Tiresome Iron Dagger (stamina damage)

Anything I enchant for my mage will be called "Mage's ____" (ring, necklace, circlet...) particularly if it's a stat boost like magicka, health, or magicka regen.
