I can compare it to modern shooters because thats its direct competition.
As a new concept it blows everything out of the water. It innovates so much and tries so many new things it astounds me.
On the other hand it executes its mechanics in a very underwhelming fashion. It's like current electric motors in cars, big promises, and does the same thing (shooters) in a totally different way (parkour and super team focus). But at the base it seems very underwhelming, with maps that get rather repetitious, seriously lacking in campaign, and a rough start with the horrid 360 display bugs, PSN being down, and over all it still feels like a shooter with a more flashy move system.
Brink is limiting itself, and I wish it wasnt so.
