How does one become a hit-man?

Post » Mon Apr 19, 2010 7:00 am

No, I don't want to be a hit-man. I am just curious: How does one become a hit-man? How would people know of him? I mean, I could understand once he's been in the business a few years and would have people out listening for people who might need his service. But when he's just starting out, how does he get people aware of his services without posting it on a billboard and letting the whole wide world know?

EDIT: And just so I'm clear, hit-men are non-government assassins, right? 'Cause that's what I'm talking about.

You go to any gang and tell them if they have any problems with someone.

First I read: "How does one become a he-man?" :P

Anyway most likely hit-mans just have contacts to that kind of people. And they have some experience doing that, maybe ex-soldiers which has
connections to right kind of people.

Another hand we have mercenaries, which are not exactly hit-mans...

Basically they are called "Field Agents" or something similar.

You sir, have officially asked the strangest question on these forums. I thought the thread was going to be about your aspirations to become a hit-man :P

That said, I too, am curious. I guess word spreads around in the underworld - but to really cement your position as a good hit-man, you'd probably have to make a high-profile kill.

You know, it's strange, I've been wondering the exact same thing for a few weeks.

I've been thinking that you would maybe talk to some members of the mafia, do a few hits for them, maybe a few free ones in exchange for them spreading the word around about you. You could remain an associate of the mafia, and they pay you to do hits after that, there are bonuses for both you and them: the cops wouldn't know it was them, and you get paid. I honestly cant think of any other way, like you said, you obviously can't advertise your services to the public.

Is a question like this even allowed to be asked here? Maybe you should try http://www.hitmanforum.com/.

When you have made high-profile kill you are out of business for some time, or maybe for rest of your career.
So remember to ask for the high price for that one. ;)

This is one of the weirdest questions I've ever heard asked here. I suppose it's done through the local organized crime syndicate.

Sorry, you have to be a clone created in a lab to be one.
Then you have to survive a battle against Mr. 47 himself.

Good luck! :P

(I expect a short life span for this thread. ;) )

You definitely need to be a clone with a bar code tattooed on the back of your head.

I'm thinking we can at least get it into the 20-30's before someone comes to end the fun.

One does not become a hitman, one is born one.
In all seriousness I think possible previous criminal activities prior would make some sense.

I'd imagine you have to have some access to info from a criminal network, which you use to find someone someone wants dead. Kinda like bounty hunting. Then once you get a name built up, people contact you specifically, or you're dead

Sounds like a horrible job though, high risk of getting caught. High risk of dying. High risk of getting a hit on YOU from enemies made. High risk of being betrayed. The list goes on.
