How does the Legion heal radiation?

Post » Wed Jun 05, 2013 9:39 pm

I want to do another Legion frumentarii playthrough, as I had a blast last time. I found the character was short, so I want to take my time with it more. I know the legion bans chem use, and the rad drugs are part of what is taken from you when are stripped of your items at The Fort. I went the medical route(preforming surgery) on that playthrough in the main quest line, as I knew going into Vault 34 would be a problem with no rad drugs.

Its easy to get by in this game without stimpaks. I'd miss Hydra the most, but I can stock up on the limb restoring items in Honest Hearts. But how do they manage without rad drugs? If I was an enemy of the legion, why not just release a bunch of raditation on them in some form? Gas masks will only resist so much. I have a gas mask mod installed, so that can help a bit with irriadated areas.

Anyways, aside from going to a doctor and eatng cave fungas, how do they deal with the radiation?

They can use rad suits.

Plus I'm sure they have some remedy that's brewed in a bottle that's somehow superior to the best of pre-war medical tech.

They die. They are legion, a few dying to radiation is acceptable. As long as they encounter it in small quantities they should be fine.

For delving into vault 34... well I have no idea what you are suppose to do. I drank radaway like it was kool aid in that place.

I suppose you could get the perk that reduces rads over time.

Ohh man this is a tough one... the only item i can think of is Cave Fungus and those only drop in Lonesome Road / Honest Hearts (but they regrow in honest hearts). If you do not have DLC i do not pity you one bit my friend.

I have the ultimate edition, so everything is installed. I'll have to take the pack rat perk too, so I can carry more cave fungus, for half the weight. I'll have to use some Cave Fungus for Healing Poultice though.
