How does this work?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:29 pm

So, I read somewhere that you can decide how many bots/players are in your game, right? Well, my friend and I were considering the possibilties of creating a mock private match.

Could I set the number of bots to zero and leave only slots for a friend and myself? I realize that there is potential for achievement cheating, but wouldn't it be logical to assume that achievements would be disabled if no enemies are present?

The first thing I do when I get a new game, is explore the maps to get a lay of the land. I'd also like to play around with the parkour without the hassle of being shot at. My friend and myself have come up with an idea to have races (using Lights, of course) around the maps. Also, could I set it so it's just me and one friend taking on the campaign with the standard number of enemies?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I tried my hardest to dig up info on this. Thanks for reading.

You can do this, but you would have to be on opposite teams.

That does make sense.. Also, I'm amazed at how fast a response came through. I could swear that I just hit the 'submit' button a second ago!

Another thing you may want to think about is that the game is based around a timer, and the whole map is not available to explore from the start, which means you will actually have to progress through a game in order to properly explore it.

A fellow Security Engineer! Wish you were playing on PC, though. :(

@Kinectimal: Those settings are definitely possible. :) There will be a lot of control over the settings of the servers, luckily. Even though I will definitely want to play "vanilla" Brink for a while, admins can still tailor the server settings to their liking, within reason.

Ave, true to Horse!

I know H0RSE. He's cool. He catalogues Brink info and doesn't afraid of anything!

Sorry. I couldn't resist it. Curse my affection for internet memes!

On topic: I appreciate all the help so far. The whole "timer" thing is kind of a bummer, but I think we could manage. You guys wouldn't happen to know how to unlock the whole map, would you? Is it similar to Battlefield's Rush/Gold Rush mode?

H0RSE is all that is "Cool". :disguise:

OT: I am pretty sure, yeah. Complete an objective, then the next part of map opens up, then complete the next objective. etc.

Remember, depending on the amount of power you end up getting as server admin for PC, the timer could be extended.
They might not allow it however.

Heavies would be so much more hardcoe for map racing.

But that only addresses 1 out of 3 platforms - and it's not even confirmed.

Like I said, might not be in. Just a possibility.
Also, we know nothing as to how the user game-setup will be for any of the platforms as well.
A lot hasn't been shown.
