I know it's possible, because at one time I had one of my daggers set as a favorite (3) and I would just hit 3 and both my daggers would be equipped. Now, for some reason, my left hand winds up with one of my spells and only my right hand gets a dagger. If I make favorites both of my daggers (3) and (4), then hitting 3 puts the dagger in my right hand and hitting 4 then replaces that first dagger in my right hand with my 2nd. How do I go back to having both daggers auto-equipped upon hitting my hotkeys?

I got confused. But try taking your favourites and hotkeys off. Then reassign them and see if that helps.

You have to do it through inventory. It's impossible with hot-keys because raisins.

Equip both daggers and re hotkey them and it will work as intended.

No, you can't. All weapons are automatically assigned to your right hand. You have to either do it manually through favorites, or inventory. You cannot hot-key it.

I can hot key a weapon or spell to my left hand as well. And I play on xbox....

Really? I've never been able to get it to work.

That's what gets me, I'm sure I was able to do it originally, before something happened that since prevented it. I would just hit a hotkey and both daggers got equipped. This was after using a bow, which is 2h and necessarily replaces both daggers. So I don't know what happened that now prevents me from doing it. I'll try re-hotkey after re-doing favorites, but I thought I tried that already, too.

In pc if you are duel wielding you press in your hot key (number) and the spell will go always to left hand if you press same again i will start duel wielding the spell, although this does not works with weapons if you press hot key of weapon, the weapon will always go to your right hand

That's your answer, if you have any combo of one handers (spell, sword, etc) and equip something 2 handed like bows then once you unequip your bow, whatever you had in your hands before will get equipped again. Also I think if you have exactly the same 2 weapons that are neither upgraded or enchanted then they will be saved as a single favorite slot so if you hotkey that item then hit the same hotkey again you will equip the second one...at least I know this works for spells.

That was indeed the answer. I discovered it myself when I got a 2nd dagger of the same exact type and saw that the stack of (2) occupied the same favorite slot, so I could just hotkey that favorite and both daggers would equip. Was just coming to post it, thanks for the response.
