How to edit your mod without problems.

hello,

My problem is with editing a mod(I made). This is step by step of what I did from when I first loaded up the TES Construction Set(oblivion).

1) Loaded up the Construction Set and cheeked(In data) Oblivion.esm.
2) Made the most of the mod I could before I had to get off.
3) Saved the mod under "MyMod" and exited the TES Construction Set.
5) Loaded up the Construction Set(the next day and after play testing) and cheeked(In data) Oblivion.esm and MyMod.esp.
6) Then I Edited the mod, fixed the problems, and added more to it. I'm not finished yet but I have to get off. So, I save the mod Under my "MyMod2". I would like to have overwritten "MyMod" but it says you can't because the file is active.
7) I play test the mod but upon entering the moded area I find that everything I placed in "MyMod" and then Edited in "MyMod2" is Gone.

This happens every time I try to make a mod. I've spent quite a few hours in the construction set only to find that it was wasted. I will really appreciate any help anyone might give. I'm probably being a complete noob or I'm just blind but I haven't been able to find anything that addresses this problem.

Thanks for the help, Siliverspy104.

1. You only need to load your mod after you saved it for the first time as esp. Checking the Oblivion esm is not necessary since your mod is dependant on the esm and it will load automatically. This doesn't cause any problems, but it saves a tiny bit of time.

2. You need to set your mod as active file before loading it. To do this you need to check the mod and push the 'Set as Active File' button below the list. Then the status will change from 'Plugin File' to 'Active File'. This is very important, otherwise you get the problem you describe.
