How far can i get on an Ati Radeon 6970 with 1GB memory

Post » Tue Feb 25, 2014 6:00 pm

Hello,

I want to buy this game was wondering how my PC is, i just saw a video of low vs high setting and it looks nice on high and unplayable on low... was wondering where my PC might be?

CPU is i5 2500k @ 3.3Ghz

4 GB RAM

Vid card: Ati Radeon 6970 @ 1gb

The only thing holding me down is the low RAM on my Vid Card... do i need a new one to run it properly?

Youre good, might not make it to perfect settings but it wont be to far from it. My ram is a bit higher and have more then 1 core with same Hz, but my video card is worse, and i run the game realy smooth on medium settings and HD.

Do have to turn off some other options but its in no way a problem for me.

Perfect then thank you for answering! Hopefully they will announce one more beta so i can try it out but if i can do medium to high with shadows low and AA/AF at 2 or lower i`d be happy.

Get 8 gigs of RAM and you'll be fine (upgrade your OS if you have to). 4 gigs is a bit low for today's games.

I run ESO on full settings on a laptop with a core i7 3rd gen, a geforce 660m and 4 gigs of ram and it runs pretty dang good. My resolution is only 1366x768 but it runs pretty good. My desktop is a core i5 2500k with 2 geforce gtx 580's in SLI with 16 Gigs of ram, but i like my laptop when im i cant sit at my desk.

I`ll get 4 more GB of RAM then by launch, i`ll try it this weekend with only 4GB and then next beta with 8GB and see the difference... i was planning to upgrade to 8GB anyway(i have win7 x64) but i never needed to, the games i played did not need more than 4gb...

It will be fine. The game was designed for both "low end" and "high end" PCs.

Take a look at the systems requirements:

[ The minimum system requirements for the game on PC are: ] — Operating System: Windows XP 32-bit — Processor: Dual Core 2.0GHz or equivalent processor — Memory: 2GB System RAM — Hard Disk Space: 60GB free HDD space — Video Card: DirectX 9.0 compliant video card with 512MB of RAM (NVIDIA? GeForce? 8800 / ATI Radeon? 2600 or better) — Sound: DirectX compatible sound card. [ On Mac, the minimum system requirements are: ] — Operating System: Mac OS X 10.7.0 or later, — Processor: Intel? Core? 2 Duo, — Video Card: Intel? HD Graphics 4000, NVIDIA? GeForce? GT 330M or ATI Radeon? HD 6490M or better, — Memory: 4GB RAM, — Storage: 60GB, — Media: DVD-ROM, — Resolution: 1024 X 768 minimum display resolution. ** You will also need a persistent internet connection in order to play. System requirements are subject to change over time.

ESO is a 32-bit software so the maximum ram it can use is 4 gb. In the three betas I've played, I never saw ESO use more than 2 gb and I had it set on max settings. The devs really did a good job on that front. So good that not many people even noticed. If it was really bad, you would have more people complaining! :)

Dont believe there is much of use buying 7970 when you have 6970.

More ram for sure.
