Hi, I'm planning on making a fanfiction based after the events of Fallout 3 while sticking as close to already established lore as possible, but I need a public opinion.

How far can I go with the technology in this story? I know the Fallout universe is based around the 50s-60s (cultural, musical, technological and their visions of how the future will be) but in my mind, all worlds progress and new scientific discoveries are made. I was thinking of introducing newer exoskeletial-power armours that are more advanced than the T-51B and the Advanced Power Armour, such as a nanosuit.

As a plot point I was going to make the ATHENA power armour this advanced nanosuit since Van Buren isn't exactly canon as per say.

I know this is a fanfiction and I can take creative power to whatever point I want but I'd rather no anger the fan base that will be reading this. What do you think?
