As it stands, all of your favorites are lumped together in a single menu, which is rather cluttered. On the Xbox and PS3, the menu is opened with the either the up or down D-pad buttons, while the other two buttons are unused. This could be changed to something much less annoying, and make full use of all the buttons on the controller, by having up mapped to Shout/Power favorites, right to right-hand favorites, left to left-hand favorites, and down to apparel favorites. You could switch between the menus without closing anything by simply pressing the corresponding D-pad button. When making a weapon or spell a favorite, the game would then ask you if you wanted it to be a right or left-hand favorite. However, to avoid arbitrarily changing menus, when trying to dual wield a duplicate weapon/spell, activating it twice from either left or right menus would do so, just as it does now. Two-handed weapons would also appear in both hand menus, and shields only in the left-hand menu (unless someone wants to make a left-handedness mod). For the PC, instead of having Q mapped to the favorites menu and 1-8 to favorite hotkeys, Q would open the same proposed menu as in the console version, and WASD would navigate the menus like they navigate the tab menus, but for the PC, and in between menu would be needed (exactly as done with the tab menus). The 1-8 hotkeys should be expanded to 1-0, and holding a button (perhaps V, by default) would activate a second set of 1-0 hotkeys, akin to the way you use the hotkeys in various MMO games.
Does anyone else feel this would greatly improve the clutter and accessibility of the favorites menu system?
