How to fill a crater...

Post » Thu Apr 09, 2015 5:15 am

I created a custom worldspace and am loving most of how it turned out ingame. It's sort of like a super caldera, with mountains all around a large valley type area.

I wanted a lake in the center but, apparently, the grey I used wasn't right. Now I have the lake but it's WAY down in the bottom of a huge crater - it's a very nice sloping crater.. lol...but not what I want.

Is there an easy way to raise all the land (and the lake) to the height of the surrounding land at the top edges of the crater? I know the n/s/e/w coords - got then ingame - but don't see anything in the creation kit that allows for modifying a large area that way.

I don't mind redoing the lake, if I can get the crater "filled".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So the problem is that your water is too low to fill the crater? And raising the water level floods up the rest of the worldspace?

You could instead use water tiles (under the activators list) to manually place the water at the desired height. You'll have to raise the bottom of the caldera to "cover up" the old water though.

I've never made rivers or lakes so didn't know you could place "water tiles"! That'll make rivers and smaller lakes a lot easier! Thanks!

As for the crater, it's really big (my worldspace is kinda huge). That's why I wondered about raising the elevation of land covering quite a few grid spaces and to a height that's many many meters up.
