Ok, so the moth priest has bugged out and gone hostile. I don't have any save from before meeting him, so I can't re-play the quest. I wonder if there's any console command that can reset his behavior?

I tried using the "reset" command in the Puppeteer master mod, which made him non hostile but he walks around with his weapon out and it's impossible to talk to him after he has read the elder scroll.

I've also tried the "kill" console command to see if that would reset him, but the only thing that happened was that he went down on one knee.

That's a weird one. Try clicking on him for his ID and then type in disable. then leave the cell and re-enter it. he should have respawned and hopefully cured. If he didn't respawn, type in enable and he will respawn and hopefully be fixed.

I had to do something like this to get Durak to piss off when he followed my character to every city trying to recruit me. disable caused him to vanish but he always turned up at the next town determined to try and recruit me again haha

If you decide to install the UDGP, make sure that you have also have the latest version of the Unofficial Skyrim Patch installed as well.
