I play Oblivion on PC.
For several early levels I wore the Boots of the Tiger, which provide 6 extra points to Sneak. Later I abandoned them for better gear, but noticed that I had a -6 penalty to my Sneak skill ever since I took them off. Apparantly at some point the game thought those boots were a 'Part of Me' and I have a permanently stunted Sneak skill without them. I know I could use the console command to restore the lost points, but I want to remove the red -6 penalty, not just restore the points. (I like things to be pretty!) So . . .
Is there a console command that can remove the -6 Sneak penalty I have for not wearing the Boots of the Tiger?

FYI:
I tried the chapel - no effect
I tried a cure disease potion - no effect
I stripped completely naked - no effect
When I put those old boots back on the problem goes away, but I get no +6 Sneak bonus and of course this presents the obvious bigger problem - I want to wear better boots without a penalty for NOT wearing The bloody Boots of the stupid Tiger! An in-game glitch with The Boots of the Tiger is the only explanation I can find for this issue. Please help!

If you're playing on a PC, I'm assuming you're using the Unofficial Oblivion Patch... right? Go into the options menu for the UOP, and there's an option to fix attributes/stats. Make sure you unequip all fortify whatever gear before you do. If that doesn't work, try http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11368.
