Post » Thu Jul 29, 2010 11:22 pm

I am just wondering what determines the recommended class Barus will say that you are in the sewers because I want to get the Knight icon in my custom class creation.

Just select any other class who's picture appeals to you then click custom class.
I allways used to hate having the wrong type pic,.. untill one day I just tried this out, I hope this helps / works for you.

I thought the icon in custom class was determined by what barus recommends.

No worries, I did too, but its determined by the active class in the menu I think..
So if you get the sorcerer class, but are playing more of a stealthy custom class mage just click on nightblade then custom class.

I never paid much attention to the picture, but I didn't know this. Very handy to know. Thanks very much! :icecream:

Indeed, I actually played the PC version first and I always made my own class with the construction set and copied the knight picture and even wrote my own class discription, but for consoles thats not an option.

I don't completely understand... I saw this thread and loaded my savegame... I don't have an icon? (PC version).

I've started over maybe a dozen times, learning more each time; I have already started over again with what I HOPE is a very good Custom Class design, and I am trying to develop "the perfect character history".

I have a custom class, class name the default "Adventurer" (basically a generalist; Majors: Blade, Block, Conjuration, Destruction, Illusion, Light Armor, Marksman; specialization Stealth; favored attributes Endurance, Luck). Race: Breton. This is a good one, I think; each of 7 attributes is represented by one Major, AND the design makes sense (I.E. not a goofy design created JUST to take advantage of benefits). The only "rough spot" that I see is in developing Marksman (IF I want to progress past Level 30).

I pulled up all the screens and menus... character (F1 and submenus), inventory (F2) etc... on the F1 character menu, when I mouse-over "Adventurer" I get no icon, and I tried clicking it...

No icon no matter what I do...

So I take it that if I had WANTED an icon, upon choosing a class, I SHOULD HAVE selected a pre-generated class first, and THEN switched to a custom class?

It's no big deal - I will NOT start over just for this, but I would like to document the procedure for my "Big Old Folder Of Oblivion Hints and Information Files".

- Thanks
- Signed, Galeron Drakan the Iconless

Wait...I thought the picture from Bauris didn't even matter...

I quite clearly remember never seeing the class picture (icon as you say it) after leaving the sewers. Perhaps I missed something?

Yes this is true, its just to get in the mood of a build from the get go, I prefer the class picture to at least look similar to what skills I picked.

@ acadian glad I could add to your already immense knowledge, thanks for the :icecream: my favourite.
