How do I get Marcus to join me in FO2?

Post » Sat Dec 26, 2009 6:44 am

I've got like +600 good karma, I'm a champion, and I've even cleared the raiders out up north, figuring it would impress him. What do I do to get em to join?? :(

Why would clearing the raiders impress him? I think he's more concerned with what's going on in Broken Hills than anywhere else :P

Have you got him to tell the long story about the Master, F.E.V, the Vault Dweller and all that good stuff? It's a good read if you have the patience. I never took marcus, don't know why. But I assume you can ask him after the long story.

Incase you've already done all that, I'll fire it up right now and see what I can do with marcus :)

Yeah heard the whole story. Done just about everything I can in dialogue with him. I have a travel with me option but he says to wait until things calm down. :(

Oh and I cleared out the raiders because I figured they were giving Broken Hills a hard time, thus things being not calm. Guess I jumped the gun... anywho, I reeaaaally want Marcus in my team. Me, him, Vic, Sulik, K-9, and Dogmeat will make an unstoppable force.

Yeah I've just started a new game, did the temple and rushed to Broken Hills xD Funny thing is I could have just waited until you replied, you gave me everything I needed to know :P Basically, he wont come with you until things calm down, which you have to do yourself. Broken Hills is a town of Mutants, Humans and Ghouls, and tensions are a little high, you should be able to ask him, or the guy at the entrance to the town, about the problems at Broken hills. I'm not sure to what extent you need to 'calm' things down, there are about three quests in this town that relate to things being wrong with it. I would give you more, but I don't know if you want spoilers or not :) Just ask Marcus if you can about what's going on in town. Or the guy at the entrance, can't remember his name :P

Ah. Thanks. I'll let you know how things go.

Eh, neither had anything to say about its problems. Both seemed pretty content with its current status.

EDIT2: Wait... no, Marcus asked me to find missing people. Where do I look? (Spoiler lite please, but some spoilers are fine, just no "Luke I am your father"s)

Aha! Missing people. It's easy to overlook this one, because annoyingly, this is about the only quest in the game that's 'triggered' by asking about it, as in, the missing people don't appear until you've asked about it >_< Which is silly :P Ok well if you haven't been into the mine yet, go there. It's on the eastern part of the map. There's a problem with the air filtration system, which means you take damage whist you're in there unless you get the part to fix it, this is something you can ask a Mutant near the mining area about. You can survive with the bad air, you HAVE to go in there to fix the purifier afterall. But you can do everything you need to if you have a few stimpacks and an idea of where you're going. There are different entrances to the mine around the east side of town, they look like manholes, already opened. going through the actual mine entrance is the longest route.

So yeah, in short, the mine is where it's at :P

Remember, if you install the FO2 restoration project, there some mutie metal armor waiting for marcus at the Abbey. Couple this with the bozar and you transform marcus to an unstoppable tank. Good thing he has left all his hate and prejudice behind..

To pick up Marcus very easy ..talk to Marcus and acquire 2 quests - missing people (located in the North East underground area of Broken Hills 2nd map...entrances all over the map...near the talking plant or mine or houses...scavenge for a letter on the body of a woman...the area is filled with ants)
- uranium ore mine (fix the air purifier...you loose hitpoints until repaired..except when wearing Power Armor)

After just talk to Marcus and ask him to join you...very easy ...You can almost take him on the beginning of the game

The town is a powder keg with some unfinished business and loose ends; Marcus won't leave until things settle down and he feels he can take a break.

Solve the town's problems ~then ask him nice.

~Oops... eh what he said above ^

You shall go to the far moon of endor.... there you shall find your lost ship..... [soz, Emperor Palpatine Mode on.....]

I meant, solve all the problems in Broken Hills, and then maybe he'll join you.... as long as you have good karma... good luck!

You've gotta resolve the issues in Broken Hills to get him to join you. Go into the caves, fix the machine if you can. Find the missing people (or what's left of 'em). I think you can kill those birds with one stone. It's been a while, though.

You may have to have a nice little fascistic conversation with a man named Jacob as well... Talk to the two humans in prison.

Good lord I don't even remember writing that!

Yeah, he has certain pre-requisites for him to join you. Good karma, NPC space available, and having solved the towns problems (missing people, fix purifier, adress the mutant haters - not sure if there's more)
