How do I get my money back?

Post » Sat Feb 20, 2010 12:46 am

Which is fine, but you do have to pay attention to the type of storefront you buy from. Steam in this case has done nothing wrong by you, your issues are with EA/Crytek. Why should Steam lose out on not only the initial $60 from the purchase, but a fine associated with a chargeback and a black mark on their record?

This is why I would never buy a digital copy...you have nobody to go back to and nothing to give them even if you do.

You can't return a PC game, anywhere, even Walmart has finally wised up and no longer accepts them as returns. So what is your point exactly? I don't give a flying crap about the $60, I make more then double that in a single 8HR work day.. that's not the issue here.. the issue is that HALF the game doesn't work, HALF the game didn't work in the DEMO, yet HALF the game STILL does not work. THAT is the problem. This is **** that was discovered and SHOULD have been fixed from the DEMO that they supposedly got wonderful feedback from. However, what did they fix? Oh, that's right, they fixed "Start" to "Enter" at the intro screen.. give me a mother fking break... Money is not the issue here, it's principle.. money, I've plenty of and so should most of you if you're buying damned video gamse; a commodity and not a necessity.

A) Agreed that you do not charge $60 for a beta. the game should run if it's available for download. And by run, i mean get past the initial log-in screen. It didn't accept my username/pw, so i get on and check on this set. got it straightened out, still did not accept. so i made up a bogus email and new nickname, and for some reason, that worked. So i get into the game. Hell yeah gonna do some multiplayer. Which leads to...

B) The multiplayer is broken. for one, as many others have had, the code I used was already in use. wtf is that about? and then, like everyone else, you get into a server and nothing happens. If I wanted to pay $60 to talk to a bunch of people I would join eharmony or something.

Now, all that being said, I know there's a patch coming, and I suppose that will fix stuff. More people playing will equal more servers. I also know that the devs have 0 intention of remembering this post over all the others. But at this point, I want my money back. I'll save it for Brink.

Just a note, you don't charge $60 for a beta.
Amen.

I'm getting really tired of people actively defending the game companies with excused like "DUDE! The game has only been out for a week! Of course it has tons of bugs and unplayable! This always happens, just give them time! Get used to it! Stop being impatient! It's still a beta!" I mean, really, why should we accept such a horrible product, especially since it seems to be turning into the industry standard for PC game releases? If you bought a car and the transmission didn't work, would you say "Oh well, its no big deal, I'll just wait for them to fix the design!"

That kind of complacency isn't helping PC gamers.

ask youre self this... would you rather have 60 bux flying around in wait or a 75% finished game ready to play? yea thats what i **** thought so i suggest you shut youre 5 year old traps. the game is completely fine go 2 an unranked server. its EAs fault that they didnt clear all the ranked servers cause the ranking system isnt properly set up. EASY CHOICE GAME WITH BUG OR NO GAME AT ALL? YOU TELL ME YOU WOULD RATHER NOT HAVE IT DOWNLOADED YET NOT HAVE YOURE MONEY STILL. a car is a **** anology cause games can be updated any time any instance where you cant build a new model for a car in a span of 5 days. what is the problem with youre game in particular and i will tell you how to fix it. if you want a ranked server... wait 1 day thats when they go consoles aswell, thats when they send out the debugged version. you ungrateful bastards want crysis 2 first then you dont want to deal with the 3 or so days worth of debugging that they had to do. crytek just dont even give these **** anything before the consoles cause they dont deserve it.

Wow, what a complete pile of dog **** this release has turned out to be.

I don't even know where to begin, I thought Steam would release it at 12:01 am today... I stayed up late so I could start the download while I slept - boy was I wrong. They released it at 8 am, about 2 hours after I start work so I couldnt download it till afterwork. I would have been better off buying a copy on my way home, because I may have had a better chance at returning that.

So far, I can't play online - my serial code is in use... f*cking awesome

My "Limited Edition" Code doesn't work, makes the whole prepay thing kinda f*cking useless as well?

Thanks Crytek and Steam, for wasting my time and my money.

seems like you failed to me '-'

Ok I want to clarify that the issue with the servers being frozen at lobby is an issue with code and communication between sets of code. This is what you call a bug. And the bug is fixed by the server admin restarting the server. A couple hours down the line check to see if its running good and if not restart it again. Its a rinse and repeat thing. Seriously if you want a server that works go to mine.

!=SOC= 24/7 IA
207.210.254.219:64000

It does work and dont say it doesnt till you try. If it doesnt work when you try let me know and ill restart the server.

Steam does not do refunds, ever. I've never heard of them once giving a refund.
I've returned/been refunded for an accidental purchase, I went to hit cancel and hit purchase(for Saints row 2) and they put the money back into my steam wallet AND removed it from my game list.

Why won't EVERYONE just CHILL THE F OUT?
I'm frustrated that the MP is not working(at least, as far as all of my experiences have gone, with american servers NOT working, yet I've played about 5 games on some german servers.

GIVE THEM SOME TIME!!! Be patient! EA/etc. WILL fix these issues.

And quit crying so much about dx11... it STILL looks FANTASTIC in dx10...

Really? DX10? It's DX9, if you can't even realize what IS running how do you claim to have a clue what DX11 is.
